Do you act differently to people online, as compared to talking to them in person? If so, why?

Online life is allot different to my real life. I tend to make more and meet people online then the outside life.

I meet people for 7 years and still mates to this day.

I think generally speaking I act the same both online and offline. Regardless if it's real life or on the web, if I'm meeting someone new for the same time I tend to be a bit more reserved. Stay on topic for instance, and show more interest in the other person than myself. However, for those that I've know for a while I tend to have longer conversations and we vary in topics. I tend to speak my mind whichever the case. 🙂

Not sure, I think I but it would take an outside observer who knows me in both capacities to let me know for sure.

I don't think I act different to people in the real world and in the virtual world. I communicate as usual.

I try my best to remain true to myself whether I am interacting in person or online so I'd say the same opinions and even expressions whether in person or written. That said I write a lot better than what I speak ssinceI can think about what I am trying to communicate but I am pretty prone to rant long on either medium when it is something I like.

I am also more hesitant to start conversations in person than in forums; usually, it is other people the ones that break the ice with me. I think that is what happen with most of the friends I made through the meatspace. They all know I love Zelda and message boards so really I don't hide or change much as far as I am concerned.

People tend to act different and be more aggressive in starting conversations online due to the actual lack of human interaction. People have a mind set that they are afraid of being judged in real life, which tends to turn them away when conversing.
