Admins, how involved do you get?

I welcome all newbies personally, even though I may not always be the first to welcome them, because I feel that's important, I take an interest in them, I post as a regular member but I try to begin at least one or two discussions as often as I can and when I do this, I often add the line, 'what are your thoughts/experiences or feelings about this' as I feel it encourages replies.
A forum, especially a new one is like a dance floor, nobody wants to be the first up dancing ~biggrin~ so I try to make it as easy as I can for them.
Naturally a lot of these personal touches may get difficult as the forum grows but then I will take on staff and encourage them to do exactly the same.

I attempt to get involved. But unfortunately, I say I like watching the forums much more than I like posting. Everyone there can keep up with posting without me, since we're pretty sustained right now. And there are a few other admins there who love to get involved with the community. And everyone there does know me now, so....

I do the same thing. I try to be as active as possible and get involved as much as possible without being over the top. I also like to personally welcome all new members and leave positive replies to people to help encourage them to post more.

I do worry about putting people off sometimes but so far I think it's been ok. Especially when a forum is relatively new, you can't not get involved because it usually dies in my experience.

I get involved in my forum as much as i can. I love being apart of the community and discussing different things with the members.

I never thought it could discourage anyone but that's an interesting thought, my place is quiet at the moment but it's still fairly new

I'm new to this administration business, but my hope is to be active in communication with my community members as well, and always treat them welcomely.

2 good points there Jaosals! Being nice to your own community is one thing, being within communications with them is another -🙂-

Getting involved as much as possible is better. Nobody likes inactive admins imo.

I think sometimes if admins don't gert involved it can make some members a little nervous I think an admin should always be approachable and willing to join in

I try and get as involved as possible both behind the scenes and on the forum. I think that user relations keep people coming back and why wouldn't they? If you're involved in the forums then people will be more active. If anyone here has been to iPodWizard then for the short time i was there the Admin was never active.
Also if you hire more Admins i don't think its an excuse to leave and let them do the job. Unless offcourse they or you have a good reason to not be there.

I just post and contribute like a regular and moderate the forums only when necessary. No point in having administrators abusing their powers in my opinion.

I pretty much act like a regular member on my forum. I've probably only had to use my powers as an administrator once or twice, but that was about it... otherwise I try to be laid back..

I try not to act like a admin.

I try to act more like more like a friend to my community.

Now when we have a huge debate going on yes then my admin side kicks in and such, but so far my forum has been easy going no big deal.

We even have a msn group for us im lovers 🙂.

I am just an active member that posts a lot whilst administering the forum admin-wise.
