I have an adult section: let me rephrase that, I have a section where you can talk about sex and relationships, in a mature manner. I don't have an age requirement as there is nothing explicit in there, and those who post in there know that posting porn, or other illegal material in there will get them banned. Immaturity will just get them in a group where they cannot access any of the areas that have mature discussion such as debates.
I've had some issues in the past with those who couldn't get their minds out of the gutter, and immediately assumed that because I have this section, that we also have porn.. and so, I've had to spell it out for them by asking on a few hosts who host the forums I have advertised at where they stood on this, and posted their responses on my forum.
I don't have an age requirement as doing so would imply that I have explicit content.. however, the area becomes viewable after 20 posts, because that is when they become a full member, and I feel that after 20 posts, I can get a feel for how mature they really are.

Adult forums... Eh if I want porn I'd go elsewhere, if I'm honest. And I'm not an adult. I'm neutral towards them?
Maybe, but it's against PayPal's TOS. But admittedly, lots of minors use PayPal so credit card payment may be a better idea for Birdy to consider.Loading said:

Theoretically someone could discuss their views on porn there and I have had a topic there in the past on it - but posting porn would just get you suspended or banned.
And then there is the spam forum where you could discuss porn and sex in an immature fashion - but posting porn or links to it would get you suspended or banned.
There is no way for someone to prove they are really how old they say they are. There are too many ways to get around things. Unless they are required to meet you in person and show you their ID..

Access to an adult forum (which contains discussions usually, not about porn like everyone would think), should be decided on the maturity levels displayed on the forum. Besides that, if you ask that person if they want to join giving a description of what the forum is about, and they accept.. There is no worry about people being offended by what is being discussed in such forums.
