Looks good. A few improvements that I would suggest is that the background image isn't of the highest quality (HD). Other than that you look like your doing a good job with the activity. Maybe move the social buttons somewhere else

When I first looked at your forum, I saw that it was a nice, clean design. I hoped that the pictures on the index page moved with the forum and they did. The issue that I have with this part is the login image on the top left of the page. There are 2 things I have to say about this. Firstly, you already have a normal login message at the top of your forum. This is all you need to ask people to register, there is no need for anything else.

The next thing is that, I am sorry to say that the login message on the top left looks very uninviting. It is a good idea, it had a picture of an anime character on but the text is quite ugly. It is a normal font and it has a drop shadow on it and in my honest opinion, it would not make me sign up. I would urge you not to make a massive thing about people signing up by putting messages everywhere. It really does put potential members off when they feel that the staff are desperate for people to sign up and when the login message looks a bit untidy. If you do want to keep the login message, it might be a good idea to think of a new way of asking the members to sign up. I have an idea of having an image of a manga character with a speech bubble near them asking the users to sign up. That would go very well with your forum.

[note]========== BEGIN - Design Quality ==========[/note]
The images on the index page and the banner images relate will to the identity of the forum. They clearly suggest that this is an anime forum, which it is.

I couldn't find a way to change what theme to use. It is generally a good idea to include several themes so that members can have a choice if they do not like the default one. If there is a way to change the theme, it is not easy to find, so you should work on making that stand out. There is generally a section at the footer of the forum that will allow you to change the theme, maybe consider putting more options in there. The top navigation bar is covering the bottom of the logo, hiding part of the text. It will look nicer if it is moved down a little bit, which is perfectly achievable in the CSS.

There is nothing separating each forum, it would look better if there was a horizontal rule or a line of some sort that will just separate each forum. This also happens with your threads, they would look a lot nicer separated. I will include an image to show you what I mean:
http://imgur.com/pHe60WJ
I have done the same in the stats section at the bottom of your forum:
http://imgur.com/lRV6esz
Your category headers are a bit plain, maybe you could give them a bit of color? I would suggest light blues, as they would go well with the current design of your theme. There are a few good tools online that help you choose colors for your website, they are located here:
http://www.creativebloq.com/colour/tool ... s-12121430
On the same note, your background consists of some images which are nice, but I feel a bit of colour would be nice, or maybe a pattern. I am thinking light blue would be nice and would not ruin the images that are there.

Your mini profile that is displayed next to your posts would benefit from a little rework. The reason that I say that is because it is a good idea and with some work it could be a really nice part of the forum. I would say that the text is a bit too small to read on it, I have to squint to read the text that says 'total points', 'rank' etc.

Site Statistics
[note]========== BEGIN - Site Statistics ==========[/note]
The first thing that I see when I look for the stats of the forum are 3 boxes that do not seem to have anything to tell us what they represent. The site statistics are an important feature, so it would be a good idea to label them so that it is easy to tell what the numbers represent.

The stats look good on first glance and I went further and looked at who specifically was making the posts. I can see above the stats it shows the top posters, the first 5 of which being staff/retired staff. The gap between the amount of staff posts and users posts is quite big, with the 5th top poster having 1017 posts and the user below them being a member, having 768. This is not terrible, but I am just showing you the gap between the amount of staff posts and the amount of user posts. This could be increased with a competition, I think your forum would benefit a lot from one. When I looked around, I saw that there were 38 users online, 31 of which were guests. You have a lot of people viewing the forum, but you need to get them to become members. I know some of them maybe were members who may not have logged in yet, but a lot of them will have been potential members. You are being seen, your next step is to turn the guests into members.

You have a unique theme which is awesome, this will make you look better in regards to other anime forums. You need to work on your SEO on your posts as that will make people be able to find you on Google, without even knowing the name of your forum. If you appear on the top of the Google rankings, people will click on your link and visit you. I can see that you do reviews and role playing. This shows that you are trying to be unique and this is where your forum shines. It is very good to be unique when there are a lot of other forums dedicated to anime. The battle zone idea is very good and it makes you stand out against the other anime forums that do not have this feature.

Site Structure
[note]========== BEGIN - Site Structure ==========[/note]
The structure of the forum is quite good. I would like to emphasize a point that was made in the previous review regarding the 3 One Piece forums, (Anime, Manga and General). They could all be merged because they are all based on the same kind of discussion and they are not broad enough to need to be separated into separate forums. They would benefit being merged because people will be able to find everything related to One Piece under that same forum.

I would not have public offices, I would use PMs for that. You should never really have staff forums on display for every user. The staff section should be kept private to only staff members. On a lot of forums, staff debate things that they do not want to be shared with every user, keeping the forums private would stop the risk of things being leaked. You have all the latest important information at the top in a bar, this is excellent. Users will easily be able to see the latest news and announcements and click on the link to go to where it is posted.

Spelling & Professionalism
[note]========== BEGIN - Spelling & Professionalism ==========[/note]
I would not say that the staff are very professional on the forum. I found a lot of grammatical errors on several occasions. The staff do answer the suggestions in the suggestions area which is good, it shows you are engaged with what the community thinks. In regards to the grammar issues, I have found several occasions where staff use ellipses, but use them badly.

There are a lot more posts where this happens and I feel that this is a bad thing to happen from staff members. Ellipses should have 3 dots, each separated by a space, an example of an ellipse would be, 'If only she had . . . Oh, it doesn’t matter now.'

The grammar there is quite bad and I think it is not professional to have posts like that on public display. On another note, I had an admin reply to one of my messages asking if my avatar was from an anime. I said it wasn't and I told them who it was, to which I got the reply, 'Is that an anime?'. This is quite worrying when an admin on an anime forum doesn't know that World of Warcraft is not an anime. On several occasions, I have noticed the staff have been a bit harsh on your members. The way they speak to them at times seems a little bit full on. It is important that staff treat members correctly so that they come back.

There are a few issues with your staff posts as I have already said. I would suggest that you look into them as staff should really be making grammatically correct posts. I would also like to bring up an issue regarding your forum titles. The word 'and' should not really ever have a capital letter at the beginning of it. I cannot think of any exceptions off the top of my head to this rule, but in your titles you have put a capital letter at the beginning. For example, 'Announcements And Site Updates' should be, 'Announcements and Site Updates'. I am aware this is a title, but that rule still applies in titles. The first letter of every word does not have to be capitalized. This happens on several forum titles. You could change the word, 'and' to an ampersand (&).
[note]========== END - Spelling & Professionalism ==========[/note]
Very Poor

Final Remarks
This forum is active and has a good member base. You should work on getting your members to post more and not relying on your staff to start conversations. You really should look at your staff's grammar, it is important that posts don't contain lots of dots all over the place. Your forum is good, it has a good member base, so work on a few things and it can become amazing!

Well, MrGravyCakes.
Regarding the notifying message, it's called the floating guest notifying message and it is used in most of the anime forums, to attract attention.
As for the theme, I don't have any say in that. Even I feel that, it needs some work.

As for the statistics, I don't know how to make the users post more. I am glad that at least staff are making good posts and I am not going to say anything to them about that.

Considering that you are not an anime fan, I am not going to say anything about the common section (for anime, manga and general), but believe me that's a very bad idea considering the amount of spoilers and such.
Those public offices are not staff sections, they are more like staff blogs. Even a user can get an office if he/she posts, 5000 posts. So, please do take a look at them before commenting on them. We do have a staff meetings section which is hidden from normal members.

As for the staff professionalism, not every one is a gamer. I don't really see your point against star. She is no gamer, according to my knowledge and it's just common sense to talk about anime in an anime forum.
I don't know why that point made into your review. As for the dots, I am not going to warn my staff or suggest anything to my staff either.
It's an entertainment forum and we are there to have fun. Restricting ourselves is never a good idea. As for the friendliness, I will talk to them 😀
I am sorry if I sound rude, in this post.
It's a good review considering that it's your very first review. Still, please do google about the basic stuff about anime forums, before writing your review.
Thanks again 😀

You need to fix some minor color issues. On the top of your forum, there are two bars. Both of these bars are different colors. This look inconsistent in your color scheme. I'd recommend you either remove both of the colored bars, or at bare minimum remove one of the bars. With your announcements, you could just make a "Global Announcement" instead.

Good luck. 🙂

Coming on to your forum for the first time, I like some aspects that I see. However, I'm confused by your domain name which is http://animemangaforum.com, while your banner says One Piece Forums at the top. I'm not sure if this is a recent change in the domain, but I would recommend fixing the banner to make everything uniform. Your theme is simple but is easy on the eyes. Normally anime forums tend to be very right and the colors seem to run all over the place and clash very easily.

As I mentioned, your theme is elegant and simple. One thing I like is that you added that little figure to the right of every forum header which gives it more of a customized feel. One thing that would really help it go a bit farther is changing up the characters for every section, rather than having the same one through every section. As far as your logo, you've got the anime characters which is good, but the text is something that simply does not mesh with the characters. It looks out of place as far as font and color, so this would need to change. And rather than having it as a long header logo, move it to the left as to make it more sleek.

One other small cosmetic thing I noticed is that you have two links in your navigation bar that leads to the index of the forum. It looks like the Anime Manga Forum link is new, so I would say that it would be better to remove that forum.

Also on Claraviolet's profile, the Administrator image is showing up as broken as the link is currently showing the old One Piece domain.

Your site has no problems as far as activity with the small exception of one forum not having any posts in nearly about a month. However, this can happen when you have sections that do not always cater to everyone, which is common for forums like these. Your other sections with their level of activity easily overshadow this small flaw, which you should be proud of.

Your forum has been running for over a year it looks like, with the statistics just over 35,000 posts with 220 members. While your forum sections are showing daily activity, I'm a bit surprised by the numbers. Especially with the summer and people being out of school, this is a great way to capitalize on their free time to get more people on the site and posting. Do not let that stray you though, as I said your activity is good, there is some room though to work on getting more members.

I took a look around and I found two forums that were strictly dedicated to discussing One Piece. In regards to your forum being original, I'm sorry to say that I struggle with finding any original aspects. One of the forums held an immaculate custom theme, but they are also boasting four years of existence and monumental statistics. Perhaps to make yourself original, you could have podcasts discussing the various episodes, or finding out how you can stream one of the episodes on the forum to where members can sign on and watch. This is where many forum owners struggle in finding their unique aspects, but it is certainly possible.

Your forum sections are the usual that I would expect in an anime discussion forum. You have the ever obvious community forums, followed by the meat of the forum which is the anime discussion strictly about One Piece. There is no issue with your structure, but perhaps splitting off the One Piece section and make an overall role play section so that way it appeals to more members? You will have more members being able to role play if you cater to all, rather than limiting to just One Piece.

Your Staff seems to be doing really well. All of the Staff with the exception of one are within the Top 6(Seeing as you have six Staff Members), are the Top Posters of the forum.

One thing I want to bring up is professionalism in some of the announcements though. In some cases I'm finding the use of excessive punctuation, and some have lower case words when they should be capitalized as they are proper nouns, and then some of the announcements are really informal. Informal would mean using smilies within the topic titles, using shorthand, etc. This can really end up putting people off sometimes as it can give off an unprofessional vibe for a potential member. Going forward, it's no problem to have fun when announcing things to the forum as with some amazing changes, but it should be done to where you still remain in the professional Admin light.

Anime Manga Forums does have some work to do, but it also has a great following as far as activity. Most of the issues brought up within this review are cosmetic, so work on those and I wish you the best of luck!

I would like you to know that I've spent the last four hours, literally, on your forum taking in many aspects of the site. At first glance, I like the overall theme and structure of the site. I am a bit confused on the name of the forum. It is not the same on the forum as you listed it here. Also, not a fan of the logo or the menu text, but I'll go into detail later. The activity seems decent for being over a year old. Content-wise, several boards lack discussion topics and posts. That needs to be improved.

The overall design of the forum looks good, referring to the default theme that guests have access too. I like the fact that you have multiple themes to select. That being said, some of them look off and may need to be fixed if you choose to keep them listed. Especially the "One Piece" theme. The header is off-centered from the rest of the forum.

Going back to the default theme, I love the header background area behind the logo and menu. It is unique and fits the niche of your forum very well. However, the logo has multicolored text. While it is brighter than the background, it is a bit hard to read. I'd suggest making that part of the header with a solid background color. You could use a dark gray background, so the logo text pops out from it a bit and apply a shadow to the text to give it a bit more oomph.

As for the header background behind the navigation, it just doesn't work for me either. The blue links contrast the background as they are plain links with no background color behind them. I think the menu links should be separated. If you were to choose to keep the blue links, maybe you could move the navigation below the header area onto the white background to make them easier to see and read. If you were to change the link colors, it would be a good idea to change the color to white so that it does not contrast as much.

I like the header background being replicated and used for the category background. I think it is a great addition to the overall design of the forum. The transparency, or opacity of the background fits well with the category text, so I love that. Though, I could suggest a slight shadow on the category text to make it stand out a bit more as in several areas, it is slightly hard to read. This is especially true in the footer with the link that reads "Forum Statistics."

The new/old icons are simple, but they are effective. I have no suggestions regarding your icons.

Also, check into the user ranks, like Newbie and others. For me, the images used there do not show up. Simply put, they are showing the alt tag. With the activity that your forum gets, you need to make sure that all of your images are working on each theme.

Site Statistics
I am rather impressed with your site's statistics. Almost 40,000 posts in a little over a year is just incredible. It is very noticeable which forums and sub-forums get the most attention. That being said, several boards in the Anime and Manga World category lack threads and posts. Specifically, Fan-fiction And Mangaka Corner, Manga Recommendations, and Manga Reviews. You want your users to post actively in those areas. The only way to ensure that is to create threads or get your staff to create threads. Though, it is always important for the owner/administrator to contribute content to bare forums and get discussions going.

Now, I am assuming that those boards are relatively new areas on the forum. That explains their lack of activity. So, with that, it is not a "huge" deal that they do not have many topics. However, I'd still recommend filling them with more content.

You have an average of 81.5 posts per day on your forum. I think that is a great statistic. Though with the amount of members that you have, I feel like that number could go up a tad. In a personal, professional opinion, your forum could potentially have an amount of posts--per day--that is greater than or equal to half of the amount of users on the site. Which leads me to my next point, 245 members! That is amazing, even after being open for a little over one year.

One thing I find concerning is that the average thread count per day is still under six as per other reviews of your site. I would encourage you and your staff to create new threads every single day to make that statistic rise. Doing so will likely give your members some encouragement to post their own topics.

Additionally, you could host a contest for a unique prize. As an idea, host a Thread Posting contest. Over the course of a month, the person with the highest number of new threads wins a prize. However, ensure that there are rules for the contest that consist of what is considered a good length for a new thread post for it to qualify for the competition. You do not want to encourage users to post one sentence posts and expect to win that kind of contest. Having a contest like this would boost your average thread count quite a bit. It would also entice your users to post more.

Keep advertising and producing content that your member base will want to discuss. I am sure your forum will continue to grow over the course of many years.

Originality
The overall type of forum is original as I have not seen many anime/manga forums advertised across the web. Though, through my research, there are many others out there. In general, they all seem to follow the same ideas. Discussions about general anime and manga, boards for specific anime/manga, and then a bunch of off-topic areas. Your forum offers other areas of discussion like reviews of anime and manga, recommendations, and fan-fiction. All of those things are original. I have no suggestions on how you can improve in this category.

Excellent

Site Structure
Overall, I think your forum's structure is sound. The categories, forums, and sub-forums seem to be in the appropriate categories and placed in a good order. The forum is very easy to navigate.

On the default layout, there is a link on the far right of the navigation menu that says "More." However, when you hover over it, all it says is Link 1; Link 2; and Link 3. Are those suppose to be specific links? I'd suggest maybe adding a "Rules" link to that, or to the navigation bar--that links to the forum rules--so that they are easily accessible. Also, on the default layout, there is a "Help" navigation link. I think it is extremely helpful for users who are not familiar with your forum's software.

Spelling & Professionalism
Staff Professionalism The lack of professionalism from your forum staff is a bit concerning in several areas. Shaurya has been a member of your forum since June of 2014. However, as an administrator, the user only has 28 threads compared to their 1,159 posts on your forum. This is a horrible statistic. Referring to the same member, the user uses correct spelling. At the same time, they do not know how to use commas and periods.

Star-of-Hope, another administrator on your forum, has decent statistics, but could use improvement. This user uses correct spelling. However, for whatever reason, they cannot figure out how to separate sentences. There should always be a space between a period and the beginning of the next sentence. The way some of his/her posts are written makes him/her look unprofessional in general.

MadaraUchiha, another administrator of the forum, seems very professional with their posting, especially in the announcements and suggestions board. In that forum alone, it is important for all staff members to be professional and grammatically and structurally correct. His/Her stats are a bit concerning as they have 74 topics to over 4000 posts. I think if their activity increased, they'd likely be the soundest professional staff member that you have on One Piece.

Most of the other staff on your site have horrible grammar and lack professionalism when posting. I highly suggest you work with your current staff on improving this, especially in the announcements and suggestions area. You could suggest that they use http://grammarly.com to check announcement posts.

Some of your staff seem rather rude to other users, and that is concerning. Stricter guidelines for staff might be a risk you need to take to increase your forum's overall professionalism.

Now, I realize that this forum is for "entertainment and fun," so I respect the fact that you do not want to be too hard on your staff. That being said, clean up the announcement threads as those need to be professional and grammatically correct at all times.

Poor

Final Remarks
Overall, I think your forum is doing well. I ask that you consider my suggestions, but I recognize that this is your forum. You make the ultimate decisions. My suggestions are merely ideas to help you attract new members and keep your current ones returning. Continue creating new content for your members to respond to and encourage your staff to do the same.
