Favorite movie of all time?

This is probably going to be somewhat unexpected, but it would have to be James Cameron's adaptation of the RMS Titanic tragedy of 1912. I'm a sucker for anything maritime. I love shipbuilding documentaries and an ideal day out for me would be at a shipyard or a drydock. RMS Titanic was such a beautiful ship.

What made you come back to FP?

I've been away from forums since my last project with @Rick Ace ended in 2013. I just felt like five years was long enough of a break. When you're somewhat isolated from other communities, forums are a great way to make up for some of that isolation.

Did you sign up to be an mod?

As in, did I join Forum Promotion to become a moderator? Nope. I've been a member for the past seven years. This is my first staff position.

What made you get into websites/forums?

For as long as I can remember, I've had this urge to help other people. It could possibly come from my childhood as I was caring for my grandma when I had finished school. I'd cook, wash the dishes and such. When we were out at the weekends, I'd push the wheelchair. I've always had a deep, caring personality and I feel my childhood has allowed it to show through to my adulthood.

My very first website wasn't much to look at, really. It was a cheat code website for video games, hosted by FreeWebs (now just Webs). It was very basic as it was made around the same time that I started learning HTML and CSS. I was 12 years old at the time. My projects these days are much, much larger and in-depth, but the same urge to help others is present.

This same website also had a forum. It used FreeWebs's awful forum plugin. Quite frankly, I would have been better off coding my own from scratch, but I didn't know how. Creating a community in which we can all discuss similar interests, is something that a forum was designed for, and I don't think will ever be replaced.

After 'enjoying' FreeWebs for around six months, I made the switch to ProBoards. Now entirely focused on forums (while still coding simple websites offline), I maintained the concept of the website prior, but adapted it into a forum. Needless to say, it didn't get very far, but through joining ProBoards Support, I met several friends that I still talk to today (@Rick Ace, @Ajay, @edenwax and @Cameron are also on Forum Promotion). We then went on to work together on various technology- and web development-related forums. 🙂

How do you feel about Canadian bacon?

Canadian bacon? I've never tried it, but if it's like American bacon, then I'll pass thank you. 😛

Keep them coming guys. 😀

Do you play allot of PC games

Now that I have a computer that is somewhat capable, I play a lot more PC games than I did previously.
  • Grand Theft Auto V (and, by extension, Grand Theft Auto Online)
  • Minecraft
  • Project CARS
  • Subnautica
  • Totally Accurate Battle Simulator
  • BeamNG.drive
I plan on buying Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy in the fall and giving that a go. I might even stream the original titles, and then stream the remastered titles. No editing. Sounds like a fun time to me. I also plan on completing my Grand Theft Auto collection for PC as I have for PlayStation 2/3. From the older games, I currently just own San Andreas, but I would really like to play the PC version of Vice City. I loved that game on PS2.

Cool, I also play GTA5, well rather FiveM. I have played all GTA games🙂

Where would you rather live?

Where would you rather live?

That is a good question. The great thing about living in the UK, is that education and healthcare don't cost ludicrous amounts of money. The climate is also getting more and more subtropical than it was years ago, and without access to A/C, you feel like you're being cooked. I don't handle heat very well; I wonder if I'm part silicon underneath. 😛 I think the best solution would be two homes between Atlanta and where I am now in the Midlands.

what's your internet speed?

I'm on a VDSL2 connection, paying for a 76 Mb downlink, 19.5 Mb uplink package.

Ignore the ISP; it hasn't detected it correctly. Part of the degradation is the use of coaxial. The other part is the cheap router, free with the contract. That will be getting replaced. These fiber packages don't include on-the-fly bandwidth management.

So would you consider?

If I were buying enough to make the membership worth it, I would. Once I do properly open up self-employed, it will be advantageous for me to have Amazon Prime.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how tech-savvy are you?
And what's your opinion on macOS and Linux?

I would say 11/10. I love silicon.

And what's your opinion on macOS and Linux?

macOS and Linux as operating systems are great. However, for someone like me, I find macOS too simplified and very restricted. As for Linux, it's a great alternative for older hardware that can't run Windows 10, but again, it's very limited with software availability. I can't use it as a daily driver. Linux is definitely primarily a networking operating system, and for that purpose it's amazing.
