My forum is located here if you wanna check it out:http://hocotatefreight.forum-motion.com

I seem to be having problems bringing in any traffic, The layout should be okay..
We have a arcade(for members only..)and such..

We discuss game design, we have a chatbox(again only for members),I have two people who are admins on my forum who seem to be the only active members..(except for one guy who's a mod, called Girlfriends's lil bro)

What is my problem?
I've added my forum to search engines and that's not help..

I just don't know my problem.. :headdesks:

You should probably do some post exchanges to ensure that there are topics and posts in which prospective members can post. Also, prospective members need to know that there are other people on the forum. They don't want to feel like they're alone (regardless of whether or not they actually are). Low statistics can be a turnoff to users.

Well every other forum has a arcade and such..

I know I have a fighting game in progress, that may work, But I don't know..

Offer more of a discussion for users to expand there gaming knowledge and use's of gaming. That also goes for general discussion, advertise everywhere possible, get a new graphic designer as the graphic's aren't very nice.

I never mentioned anything about layout, I mentioned discussion. You only offer two things relating to gaming, video games & MUGEN, plus what is MUGEN? Also you could offer console discussion( PS3, Xbox, Nintendo Wii), game reviews and some MMORGS. Also noticing you have 3 administrators and 1 moderator is overstaffed seeing as you only need 1 admin at this point and potential members. Also why do they not promote around as your site would get more noticed that way.

"MUGEN is a freeware fighting game engine that not only allows the user to add characters and stages, but it allows the user to edit the game itself"

and plus, it's just "Gaming News" and "Gaming Discussion" for more organization.

and also those two members asked to be admins.

and they aren't messing anything up..

I still think you could add more boards to bring in a bigger member base, and alot of users will say the host will drive them the opposite direction of going to your site, ForuMotion is one of the most free remotely-hosted board's in foruming. Also the way that you said ''those members asked to be admins'' according to me doesn't make you a safe administrator as I myself wouldn't trust them because all we know they could be a hacker ready to hack you or other members of the forum. What if they do mess up, isn't it with ForuMotion once given access to administration, access everywhere, so that means they can delete the forum I do believe and then do you think they haven't messed up. I am just trying to expand smaller things seeing as they can be quite messy and awkward around those area's of your board.

Hmm, well I wish you the best then and take up at least some of my advice and add new gaming discussion boards.

You could try switching from Forumotion but its cool just to stay there. All you need to do is ADVERTISE! Also post exchanges would be great for you i.e. x/x post exchange in the exchange section. It will make your forum look nicer and more active.

I would try adding more forums, about ps3,xbox, wii, PC gaming, ps2 etc

Do you need four staff when the forum can manage one just one admin?

Alright, I added the console boards(they are within the gaming discussion board)

any other ideas?
