Apple - New iPhone 5C and 5S

Nothing Samsung has

Samsung has had sport applications for ages, years in-fact, which is what the M7 will do and there's no point in 64-bit, it's almost stupid. Developers are going to have to modify their applications for the iPhone 5S. Apple think they're trying to start something, but it's going to be a pain for developers.

Your wants are unethical for Apple, as well.

Don't worry, I've realised that - because they're not going to listen to their customers wants. Better off bothering with a company who bothers to listen.

The M7 goes beyond sports.

64-bit was a needed move for Apple and the 5S. Maybe you should read about it.

http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/16624 ... erformance Okay then....

"Apple isn’t going to start shipping a phone with more than 4GB of RAM, because RAM takes a significant amount of power to initialize."

"None of this means the A7 won’t be faster than A6, but it does mean that the 64-bit status of the A7 is a marketing tool, not a genuine performance boost. "

"For all the noted new features of the iPhone 5S, this 64-bit switch is almost entirely marketing fluff. "

There's no question Apple's fingerprint reader will garner lots of attention in the coming days, and with good reason: it's an innovative feature -- arguably the iPhone's first real hardware innovation in years.

The iPhone 5S has exactly what was expected: a faster processor and a better camera (one that merely catches up to the cameras in some other phones). Those features aren't "wow" -- they're "meh."

I LOVE THIS QUOTE:

You won't even notice that you're using the new iPhone 5S.

You won't even remember upgrading to the new iPhone.

In fact, you're already using the new iPhone 5S.

We did an over-the-air update and automatically billed your iTunes account.

You're welcome

I merged these similar topics altogether so we can have a more focused discussion. I also modified the thread title a bit to better reflect the content of the thread. Feel free to share your opinions but kindly be careful when choosing words, alright?

Have a fun chat! 😉

I'm pretty happy with the new iPhone. The finger scanner is the real deal breaker and I'll be buying the 5S on the 20th and selling my 5.

Don't you think the 5C is quite expensive, especially when Apple's goal with this phone was actually to produce a much more affortable iphone?

As an Android user, I don't care about anything Apple releases, but I will say that the 5C's colors look cute. It makes the iPhone look more like the toy many have said that it is.

Waiting in line for a phone is just as stupid as waiting in line on Black Friday and it makes you sitting ducks for thugs looking to rob you because they know exactly what you are waiting for. All they have to do is wait for the right time to make their move.

After all, the cops won't always be there..

I recently had to replace my iPhone so I'm on a new contract so my next iPhone will be the 6S.

The new iPhones are pretty nice though. I think the 6 will be a much bigger hit though. There will definitely be an amazing new feature that will get a lot of people buying it like the fingerprint sensor for the 5S.

what kind of features?

I like the iPhone 5C because the plastic case looks like it is made from thick durable plastic which may make the iPhone 5C more likely to survive a short drop to the ground if the iPhone lands on the plastic side. The colors are pretty nice.

I read the 5C has similar specs to the discontinued iPhone 5. The 5C looks like a good phone for playing games, and using apps, but without buying the 5S, and using the money savings to buy more storage like a 32GB 5C instead of 16GB 5C.

I went yesterday to the Apple store and had a look at both phones.

Iphone 5S is really cool, 5C is a bit of a dissapointment.

Anyway, 5C apparently is not really marketed for the Western Country markets!!!

...or at least, this is what they say!!!

I think the 5C maybe marketed to the less tech savvy user who like color choices for their favorite case color instead of paying more cash for fingerprint readers and better cameras, and kids to teens who want an iPhone, or iPod Touch for playing games and music, but can't afford the 5S, but can afford a 5C on a 2 year contract, the 5C cost $79 at Walmart, and Target.

Also, the 4S is kind of old, so a lot of new iOS users will pay the extra $79 to buy a better iPhone.

I personally think the iPhone 5c has been a screw up for one major reason. Here in New Zealand the iPhone 5s is going to be $100 more than the iPhone 5c, it makes more sense to just pay the $100 extra for the extra features and much faster processor. It's kinda almost invalid in most wealthy countries when it could've been a great entry phone or first phone for kids, but it's only $100 off the iPhone 5s here.

I'm glad to see that the iPhone 5s is currently at the top of benchmark results, at least they got something right with the performance.

In all fairness you can't blame apple for trying. There is a lot that goes into pricing. It is still a very good phone. A $200 phone and a $300 dollar phone for example makes a big difference with $200 paychecks in a college kids world. Or anyone else who is a penny pincher

Yeah, but when it's $1,000 compared to $900ish here it's not a big difference.

... but that doesn't matter because as long as you buy with a contract it is really either $100 or $200, or 300 to 200.

It does make a difference. I'm not sure why you're so upset apple made a cheaper phone. The bottom line is, it is cheaper 😛.

I agree with Le7els that the 5C is cheaper which make it more attractive to penny pinchers who need the extra $100 for buying something else like text books, or to spend on their monthly cell phone subscription.

Plus, not every phone user cares about the 5S opening an App a few seconds faster, running games better, or a better camera since there are less tech savvy users who mostly use Facebook, web browser, Calendar, and picture viewers where the 5C is "good enough".
