OK, your wrong by stating Microsoft started a trend with their metro design.

I'd say they started a great trend.

Windows 8 is a great piece of software, and I'd much rather have a Windows 8 tablet than an iPad because I can do so much more on my Windows 8 tablet and it's a lot more productive.
Oh goodness, at least we can agree the commercials (you might not of seen them with you being out of USA) are pretty lame, and dumb, right?

We don't see Microsoft's commercials very often, usually it's Apple's advertisements which at first you think are promoting the Samsung Galaxy S4 then you realise that they're holding an iPhone and iPad not a S4 and Galaxy Tab.

Really? REALLY?! Apple commercials are so simple, and 1 topic. But, you just proved how Samsung copies Apple because they look alike. But, the Galaxy Tabs are too uncool to look like the iPad. Samsung commercials mock Apple all the time.

You must be really blind or get things backwards.

Well the advertisement just screams Samsung and they don't really display a full on Apple device until the Mac and then the iPhone at the end.

I meant just the advertisement vibe.

I don't see how these are alike though.

And what's up with you calling everyone blind, it's rude.

Right off the bat you can tell those are Apple headphones. But, it would be Samsung like to copy those, too. Maybe it is because I am an avid Apple user, but I can tell those were Apple devices in all of them. And, they are claiming they are not a foreign company, they are designed in california, in America.

Calling you blind is rude, but you calling me a tosser, and iPhonesheep is not? I've been called an idiot, but not sure if it was you that said it.

For some reason we don't see that first part in NZ.

What's wrong with being overseas? There's more countries in the world than America you realise?

Motorola is taking it one step further, their phones are assembled in the USA!

And my uncle is blind and has been since he was born. Saying that we're blind because we like other phones is just rude, since he will never even see a phone.

It is an American Product by an american company. People will love that in America and we should support our fellow american companies. Not a Korean company...

The USA only holds something like 5% of the world's population. Sorry to break the news but the world doesn't revolve around the USA. Just because a company is from a different country doesn't mean you should discriminate them! Everyone everywhere should be open for anything from any company wherever they're from.

Lol wow. You sir, are just a complete.... Just wow nvm.

Microsoft has started the flat design trend. I'm not saying they made it, as they obv did not. But once Microsoft announced the metro feel, and it hit the shelves, a lot of things have been going flat design.

Plenty of websites have even acknowledge this fact. I don't know why you are even trying to just say "your wrong" all the time with no stats or facts to keep your claim.

You can not understand where I am coming from, not being from the US. Here in the USA we like to support our homegrown companies.

Most of your phone comes from korea, china, Germany, Britain... the only thing that comes from the US (last time I checked) was the wifi chip.

Also, most of Apple's funds are probably on offshore accounts or in some other country where their money is taxed as little as possible.

Apple is one of the most unamerican companies if you ask me. A true American company would have their product completely made in the US, and actually store there money in the US... that's what makes an American company.

The company is headquartered in USA. All companies make their products overseas, but Apple makes some of their macs in the United States. The rerason why they can not make the products here is it would cost way too much.

The Senate issued an apology to apple after the taxes, and apple pays all their taxes in full.

And by your definition, no company is an American Company.

I think it's funny watching people come into this thread thinking they got just the right points that will prove Iphonefreak wrong and make him an android fan only to watch IPF just brush their points away like they were nothing. Knowing they have been defeated, they have a temper tantrum as a last resort to swaying him over then leave when that don't work.

I know one thing and it is that the attitude of the Android fans sucks. It's like you either agree with me or you're stupid as if intelligence was bound by whether you agree with them or not.

The truth is that what's best is defined by what best suits your needs and in this case IPF believes the iPhone best suits the needs he has for it and other people think the android phone suits their needs the best. It doesn't mean either is wrong as their is no standard that says only one of these phones is the best. The sooner people realize this then the better it would be for everyone.

I really wonder what people thought they were getting into when they decided to argue over the quality of the iPhone with a guy named Iphonefreak. Were they really expecting him to suddenly just completely change his viewpoint all because he read a few posts in a forum? I doubt he choose the name he uses because he just kinda likes the iPhone.

Apple isn't so bad. Even if you don't like them much you do have to admit that at least they have kept the competition competing and not slacking off as they would if they had little to none.
I don't find Apple a very bad company. I may not like their prices or even the new iOS7, but I find their iPod Touch a great product. It's Wi-Fi only, doesn't need a phone plan, doesn't need to be unlocked, small and easy to carry around.

I don't think this is true either, though. I'm from the US and I still don't understand why this is important and why it matters that they are homegrown companies.
My favorite brand is Blackberry and they are from Canada.
They sell in the U.S. which keeps us crackberrys(If I remember correctly that is the term for blackberry users/fanboys, but I could be wrong.) happy and the company still going.

Apple isn't totally original either. They can be lacking in innovation and their products don't' seem to differ much from the last one. But people still buy them. You guys can think they are blind and not open-minded, but they just love Apple. They like the feel and look of the products and choose to go with them.
Just like I choose to go with blackberry. Some of you choose to go windows and others android.
They all aren't 100% original. They can't be otherwise it wouldn't work. Each company does come up with features that make it unique to their product that others can't copy.

Trying to convince someone who loves Apple to switch to a Android probably won't happen. If he has used each OS and decided that he loves iOS the most then he will stick to it. It's the same for Android users, Windows Users, Linux Users, and so on.

iPhonefreak is an iUser. He found out he needs so much and Apple provided that for him. He wanted the OS to look a certain way and to act a certain way and he chose Apple. It's the same reason why I choose Windows. I play lots of games and Apple products don't work for me. I love the look and feel of Windows so I chose that.

Anyways that's just my thoughts. I don't mean to intrude on the conversation at hand.

While I agree with the rest of your post, and you may have a point regarding some Android users, I just wanted to say that, that does not apply to all. As I said in my last post, I have both devices, and simply choose what is best for me, much like anyone else really, IPF included. However, in my personal experience, I will say that most of the aggressors in this inane, schoolyard debate come from the iOS side of the fence.

It is usually the evangelists that have to go around beating their chests regarding iOS and iDevices in general and can't seem to accept that one size doesn't fit all. Many of these users just can't or won't accept the fact that people have different preferences, and just leave it at that. They just have to go on and on about how "cheap" Android phones are and how "buggy" the O/S is and how most Android users prefer Android because they can't afford an iPhone, etc..

It is when Android users, get fed up with the same regurgitated b.s., that they respond with point by point rebuttals to these poor arguments. Yes, there are some, who take it too far and end up stooping as low as many of these evangelical iUsers themselves. I have seen this both online and in person. It's like these people want to be able to shout out their love and preference for their iDevice, while condemning anyone else, but the moment someone tries to counter their argument, or at least, open up some honest debate about the subject, they want to ignore what's said and bury their head in the sand.

Case in point, one person mentioned that some Android devices have 8 cores now, and they are more powerful than iOS devices, in response to the other person's claim that iPhones are the most powerful. (I'm paraphrasing here..)

The response was "who needs that many cores anyway?" You don't need that many cores. (Again, paraphrasing) As if, this person is an expert on what a person does or does not need for their device.

If you don't need that much power, fine, then don't get a device that has it, but who are you to question another person's needs?

Then there is exhibit B:

From what I have seen with these people, inclusive of some of the posts in this thread, the nasty attitude lies mostly with the [evangelical] iUsers. I'm not saying that some Android users are innocent either, but in my experience, they are not the majority of the aggressors I've seen in this debate, not by a long shot.

*Please note, I am only referring to the evangelical iUsers, not iUsers as a whole..*

Anyway, this is my last post in this thread, I just wanted to address the point I quoted.. People should just stop judging others on their choices and just use what makes them happy because at the end of the day, that all that really matters, here is something that I found funny.. hopefully you guys will too.. 🙂

2) Well it is true, the OS is buggy and cheap!
3) Poor arguments? this thread has been far from poor arguments, by either side. I have not ignored or buried my head in the sand. I believe the phrase is "Us iDevice users do not steep as low as android users, as really thats what it is. We are the upper hand.
4)Android does not have 8 cores. Android is a software, not hardware.
5) There is absolutely nothing on an S4 that can utilize all 8 cores. Nothing.
6)attitude lies?! You gotta be kidding me...Most people I have ever gotten into an argument with are android users and they started it, like here. I did not start this. Instead of evangelical iUsers, you can put iPhonefreak. I know what you meant.

I said that my previous post was my last, but since you quoted me, it would be rude of me not to reply.

What happened to number 1? You jumped right into number 2.

iPhonefreak said:
2) Well it is true, the OS is buggy and cheap!

Say it with me, ALL software has bugs. ALL of it. I can say this because whether its iOS 4-5 on my iPhone, Android Donut 1.6 on my husband's G1 - Jellybean 4.1.2+ on my S2, Galaxy Tab 7+ and Note 2, BlackBerry OS 5-6.1 on my 9630 and 9700, Windows Mobile 5-6.1 on my HTC Hermes and Symbian S60 on my LG Xenon.. you name it, I've used them all, trust me, they ALL have more than their fair share of bugs. Why do you think we have these miraculous things called updates? Here's a hint, it isn't just for a fifth row of icons.

Last time I checked, we pay for the devices that run the O/S, not the O/S itself, so in that regard, both iOS and Android are cheap since they don't cost anything. We only pay for Windows O/S's for the PC. That being said, your argument is bunk.

iPhonefreak said:
3) Poor arguments? this thread has been far from poor arguments, by either side.

I wasn't talking about this thread, just the arguments commonly used by iOS users against Android in this debate. Do you really think that this debate is exclusive to FP only? Regarding the arguments, I've already addressed them in another post, so I won't bother with reiterating them since I really wasn't trying to convince or debate anyone and just wanted to leave my thoughts on this topic and move on.

Who said you did? I certainly didn't. You seem to be taking this very personal. I guess it is true what they say, a hit dog will bark. If it doesn't apply to you, then why are you so defensive?

Please realize that the Earth does not revolve around you. I only mentioned you once, and that was to say that I use the device I prefer the most, much like you do. That's it. That was the first and only time I specifically referred to and mentioned you at all.

When I said evangelical iUsers, I meant exactly that. Not you specifically, but as a whole.. so please, get over yourself.

5) There is absolutely nothing on an S4 that can utilize all 8 cores. Nothing.

I never said that the S4 could utilize all 8 cores, hell, I didn't even mention the S4 in my post, that said, the extra cores kick in when it is needed.. when being the operative term of course. Just because there may not be anything to fully utilize them NOW, doesn't mean that there won't be in the future.

That's the great thing about Android. Flexibility. OEM's can put out powerful devices now, in anticipation for the type of apps and features that will eventually use it. Until then, users are free to multi-task the hell out of their devices. For example, I can play Playstation, and N64 games via emulator on my devices and then switch between them and Asphalt 7 while streaming from iHeartRadio and running tTorrent to download a few episodes of Burn Notice without any lag. I also use multi-window mode for each of these apps as well. So if I wanted to, I could run Skype while doing any of these including browsing the web, using GPS and watching movies or tv shows on Netflix. This is not just an example, this is only what I did on Sunday night.

I actually like having all of that power to do what I ever I want with my device and not having to worry about lag, freezing or my device crashing and still have more power to spare.

I only said that if you don't need it, then don't use a device that has it, but who are you to dictate what someone else needs? Just use what you like and stay in your lane, this doesn't just apply to you, but everyone in general. That's all I've been saying from the get-go.

iPhonefreak said:
6)attitude lies?! You gotta be kidding me...Most people I have ever gotten into an argument with are android users and they started it, like here.

I said, from MY personal experience, not yours or anyone else's. What part of that don't you understand? Judging from your argumentative response to me, not to mention a few in this thread, I highly doubt your claim. I mean, isn't this your post?

And here you are yet again trying to start an argument with me. You took a post that was non-specific, was not EVEN directed at you in the first place, and a post that basically stated that people should just be happy with what they use, instead of judging someone else, and one was not even referring to you and yet, you made it all about you. Understand this, if I were referring to you, then I would have addressed you specifically.. much like, I have throughout this post. So please, stop insinuating things that were never posted to begin with and save your paranoid thoughts for your shrink. They have to endure 12 years of school and accrue insurmountable debt in student loans for that privilege anyway.

Even though I really wasn't addressing you, and you seem to have gotten your feathers ruffled over what was a truly innocuous post, now that I think about it, you are the exact embodiment of the arrogance and narcissism that is commonly displayed by evangelical iUsers. Congratulations. You've proven my points. Thank you. 😎

Apparently it wasn't clear but I was only directing that comment at the people in this thread especially those who argue then flip out after being disagreed with. I know enough to know not everyone is like that but a lot of the people in this thread that support Android are not doing themselves any favors by throwing around insults and having a temper tantrum when disagreed with. It just makes you look bad and encourages people to ignore what you have to say because of the poor behavior. It just illustrates that you aren't open to the possibility that you are wrong and you can't have a decent debate if you aren't open to the possibility you could be wrong as well as right.

Android because most of people use android OS, android developer fees are lifetime but apple is per year.
