Blogs used to be all the rage...but are they still "in"? If not, what's replaced them?

I think they can be. I know a lot of gaming sites that appear to be using wordpress as their CMS. That would technically make them a blog, would it not?

I myself still feel that blogs are very much in even though we may not always see them as much. I myself have a blog that I use to keep people updated on my services and also my content creation as well as I feel that is one great way to be able to keep people updated. I think if you are a regular user of blogs you will see them more and more than you do if you are a regular forum user. Sometimes you may not even realize that someone is using blog software for something.

I think if people use them for their own personal journal & not so much worried about feedback, they can still be a thing.

I don't see much of them anymore; many people are into the quick posts on FB and now TikTok 🙄

my husband is addicted to TikTok!
I go on it for the funny vids, I have never posted on it.
I was thinking of ways to integrate TicTok into forums, maybe add it to a VIP section or something, would bring people like myself to forums. 😱

That's actually a brilliant idea!

Yes, blogging can still be a good way to share your ideas, thoughts, and expertise with a wide audience.

Blogging can be a great platform for building your personal brand, connecting with like-minded individuals, and sharing valuable content with your readers. There are many different types of blogs, and there is likely a niche for any topic you are interested in

. If you are passionate about a subject and enjoy writing, then blogging could be a good fit for you.

Definitely still there. There are a host of blogs that I still visit to learn more on how to take good care of my pet. There are others that I visit for other interest and they make new contents Biweekly as well.

I've thought about starting a blog on numerous occasions, but I never followed through. 😛

I do think blogs still have a place on the internet. I have my personal blog and I just started a new blog that I am working on. Plus I have my forum.

It's not actually an easy thing for the starting of a blog from the scratch. It really needs some time to build a large fan base for one to monetize a blog.

I think so, but like most things, social media takes over - for example on reddit & other communities, there are constant trends of people clearly never visiting the blog article before replying. It's known as headline scrolling & it affects blog traffic a LOT! People respond to the content but never read the content and I feel like this is more common than people realize. Same thing happens on social apps - they'll see the headline & thumbnail, hit the reply button but never click the link!

Nowadays I look at my philosophy towards content a bit differently than I used to. Whereas before I'd rather stick to my own blog and obsess over ranks, nowadays I just share my thoughts for the sake of engaging with other users, meeting new friends, etc. I'm less focused on my content needing to live in a blog - I am much more likely to write up a LinkedIn post than a blog post these days as an example of that.

I can say that people are nowadays more into some other avenues tend to be more simpler and easier for them to get information like the online forums, social media among others compared to the blogs.

I read headlines on social media and then go read the comments because it's more entertaining 😀

exactly, it's not even a "bad" thing in many cases, but this in my opinion is a huge contributor to why blogs don't see the traffic they used to , while still being "in" and popular at the same time.

Sex sells on TV, but drama sells on the internet 😉
