Do you ever think Denis Colby quit over nothing?

Nichelle Nichols who played Uhura, didn't get a lot of screen time through out the entire 3 seasons of the original series. So I don't understand the fuss.

Yes, absolutely, she has a key role on TNG, even if she had episodes where she was more in the background. She gave up on something that could've made her career.

Yep, she became such a role model for her role, too.

I scoffed at her reason when she blamed it on Tasha Yar not seeing any character growth. It was the first season. Sometimes characters in a 7 to 15 season show don't show any growth until after the 2nd season. Look at Supernatural. Sam and Dean have basically been the same since Season 1 despite going through traumatic events.

Do you think it was about money and screen time with Colby?

I totally agree, she hasn't even given the writers time to flesh out Picard, Riker, Data, Word, Troi, and the other main characters yet, you don't just jump into a CAST and think you own it. Yeah, Captains take precedence in Star Trek, of course they do, but she was still shaping up to be a damn good character. A strong woman in a series that really needed one. But nope. Ego takes over.

That's a tough one. Seven of Nine's an obvious choice, her arc is full-circle, but I think Worf or Miles O'Brien had great arcs, too, across both TNG and DS9. So...any of them.
