My older brother. He hated me, so he called me all sorts of things. I was five the first time he called me an...and I'll censor myself here since this is a public forum, so..."f'ing f-slur" to my face.

That's so sad. 🙁 I'm sorry. My kids sometimes have some conflict with each other, but I can't imagine them ever having that much genuine disdain for each other. They also will never, ever use words like the f-slur. Yuck.

My older brother was 19 when I was 5, he and I had different fathers, and he truly hated my father, so I was an easy target. When I started showing signs of being...what I am, he went all in. I'm thankful we moved to the US and he stayed behind. That level of estrangement made me not have to fear, and when I learned he was the same level of mean to his own kids, his son especially...I couldn't help but fear for them. Hearing about his passing was the most conflicting thing, for obvious reasons...
