That's a terrifying video. Life is strange sometimes, people survive potentially devastating incidents and others die in the simplest of circumstances.

Maybe train platforms should slope slightly away from the train, so if something is to roll on the platform it rolls away from the direction of the train.

That's a bit harsh, it was a mistake and we all make them. Minding a child that young is a 24/7 job and there are no parents alive that haven't made mistakes or got distracted for a few seconds. I feel sorry for the Mum. She will probably never get over the shock of that incident.

Or possibly slope upwards..like a hill? that way the wheels get stopped/slowed down, depending on the momentum.

Very true. One minute they could be sleeping, and the next they're awake chewing on something or getting into something.

My bad, thought you meant something different.

I was just thinking if the child had rolled onto the platform about 2 - 5 seconds earlier there would most probably have been an adult on the track trying to rescue the child, when the train pulled in.

Thinking about it again, if the momentum from the stroller had been too fast, the baby could've been sent flying forward had that slope been there..which would've sent the baby to his death.

Now, for the adult on the track. If at most, the adult could've gotten on the track, grabbed the baby, and attempted to hand it up on the platform..or for last measures, throw it on the platform. But then the adult gets ran over/dies.

As they always say, we die so others can live.

They even aired it iN Mexico, it was really creepy to see the train just after the troll fell, I am glad the kid was all right when they reached for her/him.
