Bitcoin, Your Thoughts?

If you have a fast Gaming computer with multiple highend videocards, and a faster CPU, you can mine Bitcoin yourself, so you'll only be using electricity and your own computer to mine bitcoin.

If your electricity prices are cheap, or you use Solar, Wind, and other forms of renewable, and self-made electricity for your PC it may not be very expensive to mine Bitcoin yourself.

Your Bitcoin could be worth more when real currency like the Spanish Peso, US dollar, and Japanese Yen loses more of its value because of the poor economy, and uncertainty in the world.

I tried it a while ago, the "wallets" turned me away.

Bitcoin isnt doing very well at the moment though, I have got 0.04 btc. It was worth about £8 at one point, as of right now its worth £2.26, I payed about £4 for it though and it was only to see how it was.

I haven't really shown any real interest towards Bitcoin until I read the part about it being a P2P network, or a "digital currency" for investments. I was under the impression that it's another PayPal, but then my ignorance shows for a slight moment. I'll give this service a look today.

Japanese Yen loses more of its value because of the poor economy, and uncertainty in the world.

Yen only remains so low in value due to the Japanese government attempting to keep it down because it encourages outside trading into the country and buying in Japan from foreigners.

It's actually a lot more complicated to start mining than one would expect. And at its current difficulty level, solo mining isn't really profitable anymore. That fact kind of sucks, and makes me want to switch to an alt-coin like Litecoin. However, you're kind of stuck with Bitcoin because it's really the only coin that has any sort of acceptance outside of the internet.

Actually, most mining is done with GPU's now. I've contemplated purchasing a mining rig, but I'm unsure how long that will continue to be profitable.
