Can you type?

I don't look at the keyboard typically. When I get a different computer/keyboard scenario I have to look a little at first because the spacing of keys and etc can sometimes be different. I've been able to type without looking down for about 15 years now? I had an average WPM of 115 in high school. I was quite proud of myself. 😛

I can type without looking at the keyboard but only when I'm looking at the screen. If I'm copying something off of a paper beside the keyboard then I tend to get a lot letters mixed up and have to look at the keyboard.

Interesting. I’ve never really tried this. I have no idea whether I could do that or not xD

I honestly never look down at my keyboard anymore. It slows me down.

I have to type fast otherwise I wouldn’t be able to get any work done. It’s basically a job requirement for me.

Why is it that people don't get it that the word type, normally implies "typing without looking"? :bored:

So do they teach typing anymore in high school? It wasn't a popular class when I was there - but this was pre-internet (early 1990s).

I have always been rather quick at typing. I'm a little rusty, considering I haven't been on a PC in two years. But when I was previously on the PC for all them years, I got pretty quick. I'll have to take a typing test, and see where i stand today. 🙂

Lol, thinking about whether I do it involuntarily made me look at the keys, I don't really think about it a lot of the time, I just do it on auto-pilot.

I can type. I never look at the keys. Where I'm from, you learn how to type with a cardboard over your hands when you're in the fifth grade.
