Circumcision

Some people need to have it done for health reasons. In that instance, I support it.

Otherwise, the whole idea sounds stupid to me. Unless it has to be done, just leave it.

I don't understand why some religions require it. Oh, but sacrificing some skin from a reproductive organ will make you better in the eyes of the lord. Give me a break. =.=

For medical reasons, I agree with circumcision, but only when it's needed. Tight foreskin, in 99% of cases can be treated with stretching/ steroid creams. In those cases circumcision should only be seen as a last resort.

For the look, personal preference, or just fun, I disagree with it. Keep as natural as possible...

Uhm, hello people... There's a reason why we're born that way. If you remove it, you're removing a piece of us nature intended for us to have. Imagine the additional pain one might feel if he is kicked in the wrong spot and "unprotected".

There is no true medical proof circumcision protects against anything. I think I read somewhere though (if I'm not mistaken, but can't remember) that in the US at least, male circumcision dropped from around a 90% rate in the 70's to around 58% (the prevalence in newborns).

That's a good step forward, IMO, for us in the US. I don't know why it isn't banned for religious, and especially "custom" or "look" reasons already. It is the guy's choice, not the parents. I am glad then, because of all the BS surrounding this topic, that I am not "you-know-what".

T_T Its not our right to remove something from a healthy child just because parents want it done.

I know too much about this topic to even begin to talk about it. But the foreskin contains 10,000-20,000 nerve endings while the glans (head of penis) only has 4,000. The foreskin is the most sensitive part of the male genitals.

Around the world only 15% of males are circumcised. This procedure is done the most in America. 80% of males in America are circumcised.

Why do parents do it?
Many reasons because everyone else does it.
Father wants son to look like him.
People think its it has health benefits.
Its in fashion. I know thats sick to say.

No world health organization in the world recommends male infant circumcision.
Why should a grown man compare his parts to a infant?
Children are a mix of both parents.
Our own children's health organization says they cannot even recommend male infant circumcision because the risk don't out way the "benefits."

All boys no matter where they are born have the right to a whole and happy body.
And tight foreskin can be resolved with creams and other methods.
and foreskin needs no extra care.

Instead we use the word intact. ^_^

After many years of having your glans exposed it can reduce what sensitivity left. the head is not meant to be exposed to the elements. It is normally only exposed during sexual arousal , and bathing.

Men who find their sensations reducing sometimes resort to something called foreskin restoration.
