Do you keep track of your steps? Do you have a pedometer? Maybe your phone or smart watch counts your steps?

How many steps did you walk today? How many do you average?

I never keep a track of how many steps I make per day. But most of my friends do.

I make sure I walk/jog a minimum of 10,000 steps every day, even if it means going out an hour before midnight. Not that I'm OCD or anything... :joyful:

My phone keeps track of my daily steps and I generally walk an average of about 3k-5k steps a day.

My Pixel Watch 2 tracks all that for me. Steps, heartrate, sleep stages. And more accurate than my Galaxy Watch OG, and phone tracker!

Do you keep track of your steps?
Yes. I have for the last two years. Started as a compromise to not be completely sedentary.
Do you have a pedometer? Maybe your phone or smart watch counts your steps?
I used my phone as pedometer until I had resistance at work for having my phone in my pocket during working hours instead of the locker, so I bought a smart watch. Now they have send memos about not wanting to see those either but until they tell me directly, to which I will sincerely explain that it is pretty much doctor's order.
How many steps did you walk today?
6pm right now I am at 8227 steps. I usually aim for 10,000 but honestly tonight i don't think I'll go much higher. I am still feeling very tired from last week work shifts.
How many do you average?
I'd say that it is between 8,000 - 12,000 depending on the day of the week. Some days I pass my goal easily without trying, some others I have to mindfully go for walks to keep myself active.

My goal is 10,000 daily and it's easier when the weather is nice outside! I'll settle for 7,500 on bad days.

Interestingly the notion that taking 10,000 steps a day is optimal for your health is often criticized as unscientific and it's believed to have originated from a market campaign promoting pedometers in Japan.

I think the jury is still out on what is actually optimal.

My watch tracks them for me. My goal is set to 10k, and my average is about 3856 a month. Some days, particularly when I'm at work, I'll hit the 10k easily, but other days, it just depends on what I'm doing. I don't wear it when I'm at home for the day, but I do wear it if I go out to track those steps. I don't really pay attention to it overall though, but it is a fun little thing to track.
