cPanel price increase...again!

DirectAdmin is certainly a better value. $24 a year for a personal account is very reasonable. Using it is still like walking on the moon for me though.
I know couple of resellers that provide it for free.

Yeah I felt the same way for about 2 days.

you just have to look at it diff then cpanel.
With cpanel everything is right in front of you.
With DA you have to search for it.

Well, their standard license is $29 a month to provide unlimited accounts, so I'm sure all of those resellers have that. It doesn't cost them more whether they've issued 150 DirectAdmin licenses or 15 of them. If you're in the small scale web hosting game, it doesn't get any better than that.

I assume DirectAdmin will keep on growing as cPanel keeps running off their customers as well. More and more resellers will provide DirectAdmin instead of cPanel, and maybe we'll eventually see that being the norm.

DirectAdmin must be a new service I take it

It's not a new panel, but it's just recently gaining more attention due to the price hikes of their biggest competitor.

How many years have they been in business? I seem to remember seeing this name when I first got into forums

Never fun seeing a price increase, but I've never seen a service decrease their prices before. Only go up and up some more...

Wikipedia says it was first released in 2003, so they've been around for a hot minute. They even have a support forum that uses XenForo. That's something I dig.

Does that just come down to cost of living though? Things are slowly becoming more and more expensive everyday, as our dollar becomes worth less and less. I guess we can't expect different on the web. 😛

Food goes up so does Cpanel. SO far more hosting companies haven't but there cost up! Well, not my host.
