Crafter Craze

My mother used to make dishcloths for us and send a box each Christmas, we have made them last almost 6 years but we're down to the last of them.

Is she still making more? If not, you might want to put the last one in a shadowbox with some other things she's made 🙂

She passed away almost 7 years ago so I did decide to keep a few that would be never used along with a few other things she made.

My next projects are Roman Shades, Aprons and Market Bags. If you have made any of these items, please post on Crafter Craze with some tips or patterns! Thanks!

As more areas are banning plastic bags, I wanted to find a pattern to sew my own washable market shopping bags.

I put up a review of a really easy pattern here on Crafter Craze:

Here's how my bag turned out. I used a recycled curtain and bedsheet:

That is really nice & pretty too! I just use canvas bags then put them in the wash as needed.
How many do you think you will be making?

These aren't too different from canvas bags since the curtain material is just a little bit lighter in weight.

I believe I have enough fabric to sew 20 bags...maybe 30? That's a lot of Christmas gifts! Okay, so they won't all be gifts. I want to keep about 6 for myself and then I'll keep some for my daughter to take home when she visits. I always buy extra food for her pets so that they can take it home when they visit here, and I have run out of bags to give her that will hold when she walks from the car to her home in the city.

That looks really nice, very professional and a great use for old fabrics 🙂

You should start a blog on the site with tutorials. That's a nice bag.

Thanks! I really thought about doing a blog but it's SO much work. I'd have to stop and take photos and a lot of the patterns I use belong to other people. Which is why I review them instead. I've created some of my own crochet patterns but not too many people have been interested in them even though I offer them for free.

Thank you!! I did a striped one yesterday that my husband said looks like it came from a store.

What autumn crafts would you like to see?

I have opened up a private area of the site that only registered members could see and now even guests can visit and print off the Free Original Patterns I've created.

My latest design is a Chunky Hooded Cowl.

I can't think of any new crafts to make...so I'm still sewing tote bags out of the curtains my dad gave me. I don't know why my mom bought so many curtains!
