Democracy without religion

Yes, very much. More libs would be in office, and gay marriage would be legal.

Why? Religion is only a voter base in western politics. You are basically saying the same thing as my wish for no liberals.

Be realistic we all have beliefs no matter what political views we have. Those beliefs affect everything.

What are you getting at? I think we should have democracy without liberals -- that would be nice too.
Yes, because gays aren't equal to heterosexuals, et al.

I believe they call that Nazi Germany.

Religion is something a person or a group of people believe to be true so you can never completely be rid of this.

I'm not saying I have a problem with religion. I have a problem with religion with politics. Which goes against the constitution, but no one cares.

Ehh. They can't eliminate religion from politics; if they did, they wouldn't have an argument against gay marriage, and nobody would be able to stand that.

Both the Nazis and soviets engaged in the suppression of religion.

Those were both ultra-authoritarian governments. Libertarians do not believe in suppressing religion; libertarians believe that religion should not interfere with the state in any way.

The Constitution doesn't state that religion can't be involved with politics. The Constitution is largely about what the government can't do to YOU. In this case, what the government can not do, is establish a religion.

The constitution actually doesn't mention separation of church and state.

It doesn't.

Do you mind giving me some proof that religion doesn't interfere with the state?

That's not how it works. You prove that something is effecting something else. Anyway, you atheists effect politics, so I ask that there be democracy without atheism.

Maybe we should all just die, because the act of us voting effects democracy, knocking it "off balance" towards whoever we voted for!

Cosmic, "affect" is a verb. "Effect" is a noun. I just wanted to tell you that for future reference.

Atheism does not affect politics. How can a lack of religion affect politics?
