Exactly. I use post exchanges to help give my forum a boost when we need more content. I don't expect post exchangers to be returning members, and stick around after the exchange/agreement.Post exchanges help boost your forum, and if the other person decides to stick around after they're done then cool but it's not expected.
Yes, I get what you are saying. I've been doing post exchanges for years. But do they ever stick around? Which is the thread's topic.I think most people forget what a post exchange is or don't understand the concept of it.
A forum post exchange is a mutual arrangement between forum owners where each participant agrees to make a certain number of posts on each other’s forums. The goal is usually to boost activity, make the community appear more active, and help with member engagement or search engine visibility.
The mutual arrangement is finished when either one of the forum owner does no longer want to participate.
If you're expecting people to do more posting while you don't do your end, then that's completely on you, not them. It's not the responsibility of the other party to stay active. There is nothing organic about it, it's a setup. Nothing more, nothing less.
An exchange is always a business transaction. You give and receive.Yes, I get what you are saying. I've been doing post exchanges for years. But do they ever stick around? Which is the thread's topic.
The answer is almost always no. As for activity, I can post a bunch of stuff on my forum to boost activity. But exchanges to me have become meaningless if it's just a "business transaction" and the exchanger doesn't really care about my forum.
That's why I stopped doing them.

Yes, good point. 🙂That’s exactly why having friends in the forum community makes a huge difference when it comes to post exchanges.
They’re way more valuable than standard, one-off exchanges, especially when they’re genuinely interested in helping your forum grow, not just posting for a return favor.
That kind of support goes way further than any “business transaction.”
Every effort matters when it comes to building a community, which is why post exchanges don’t have to feel transactional, unless one choses to treat them that way.
Yes indeed! 😀If you’d receive only, you’d be a charity. 😜
I come and go. I don't even remember where I found your forum. lolI have a few that stick around, some that stop and come back. Overall they have helped my site 🙂

I closed it recently. Needed the active license for another project, and it was pretty dead TBH!! 🙁Most likely on here lol. Let me know if you want to do more? 😅
That's a good thing in the end! Post exchanges do help in some cases, it helps to see there's at least one other member logging in and posting which is especially great for new forums. Again though, it's rare that members stick around after doing one post exchange.I have a few that stick around, some that stop and come back. Overall they have helped my site 🙂
