Do you look for new forums to join?

So I suppose then the next question would be why even bother trying to start a new forum then, is it better just to accept the fact the days of forums are long gone and move over to social media.

This make me wonder if I even need to spend any more effort on my current project that has not even opened yet.
Yes.

When login in here do you look for new forums to join or is your primary task just to promote your own forum and that is it.

Personally I have seen some awesome new forums to join when browsing some of the forums posted up here.

Neither, really.

I'm not really interested in forums but I check back on FP once in a while to see how it's doing.

Yes. I visit forums and blogs that match my preferences. But to convince me to join is a different question 😀

It's rather hard to make me join a forum, because I only join the forums that are really active and you can have proper conversations on.

I love forums, but I often have trouble finding communities where I feel at home.

Most communities don't even last that long anymore, so what's the point of finding any?

This seems to be that catch 22 for any forum trying to get off the ground, how do you get over that point if you have no interest from people wanting to possibly give back to another forum owner.

Once again how long do you run a forum if most people will only join into a very active forum, when do you just call it quits and close your doors.

It seems that us forum owners are actually causing our own demise in the long term if we cannot even support each other, how do we expect support from outsiders as they have adopted the same ideas.

I know that it can be frustrating when people do not want to join a new forum, but the best thing that you can do is keep at it and prove to them that it will be around for a long time. Maybe they will join when they are convinced of that. :3

Yet my board is 2 years old and not going good. I tend to see people like the website but doesn't mean they will join
