Empire hosting issue?

Is there anyone here who is hosted through Empire Hosting?
I can not load neither my own website up OR the actual empire hosting website.

I have seen some errors on the site they might caused it (probably script error followed by a DNS error)

Yep, there are more issues happening.
It's been happening off and on for the past 2-3 hours for me. Thankfully the site goes down temporarily and comes back in a few minutes. I do hope whatever the issue is gets resolved quickly.

I'm so very sorry about this. You may be able to blame people abusing the service with webpages that constantly query the server, forcing it to shutdown due to overload. Although I'm not sure, we are working hard to make sure this stops, and doesn't happen any more. Again, we are very sorry for the downtime.

Hey all. I did send out a mass email to you all last night about the issues. Since they have been brought up here I will repost them here as well. There should be no further interruptions to the service. However specific site issues should still be reported through our ticket system so that we can act on them faster. Now that I have posted here I can more closely watch it for replies and answer any questions.

As most of you may have noticed EH was down for several hours earlier this morning. Below you will find details on the reason for the downtime and the steps we have taken to ensure it doesn't happen again.

It was caused by PHP overloading the server due to a massive amount of requests to a single page at once. This was not a hack or an attack as some have asked about but a configuration problem with PHP. This has been corrected and was actually in place in the past. However when we upgraded our server's Operating System for some reason it reset. We have combed through PHP and the server's configuration to ensure there will be no other ill effects from the upgrade and that things are configured correctly.

We apologize for the interruption. We work hard to ensure your sites stay up 24/7 for you and your customers/members. We will work even harder in the future to ensure that something like this will not happen again.
