What do you think? How did the Human species come to be?
I personally believe in Darwin's Theory of Evolution.

Simply because you may be a "Christian" doesn't mean you'll have a good life, and some religious people would argue that it doesn't mean you'll end up in heaven either. If you think logically (something 'god' may have given us the ability to) it makes sense that only those who are truly good people will be approved to attend heaven. It wouldn't matter if you were Christian or not, a true 'god' who created humans with the ability to make choices isn't going to say "well, you have have been the epitome of a saint your entire life, but you're Jewish, so i'm gonna send you to hell." This is the reason why I see all organized religion as corrupt, they simply fight among themselves which is the exact opposite of what a 'god' would want.Stats+ said:I have to go with the bible version all because I'm a Christian and want to have a good life. Not even the Catholic Church goes directly on what the Bible says. :shock:Stats+ said:I have to go with the bible version all because I'm a Christian and want to have a good life. I'm just playing safe.

And so does the Catholic Church, not all Priests follow what the Catholic Church says.Sbfc said:Kirisute Gomen said:Not even the Catholic Church goes directly on what the Bible says. :shock:Stats+ said:I have to go with the bible version all because I'm a Christian and want to have a good life. Well obviously not, I'm pretty sure the Bible condemns paedophilia.
Not all humans follow what the law says either, so this example isn't something unique to the Church and isn't a factor in my choices. There will always be those who chose to break rules and do things differently.Kirisute Gomen said:And so does the Catholic Church, not all Priests follow what the Catholic Church says.
Did you not read the posts above you? Most "creationists" don't believe God (or in your case, lack thereof) got bored and made some planets and some people. The current Catholic Church's explanation doesn't contradict Darwin's theory, as far as I know.Darwinian said:Personally I have now moved past the point of arguing with creationists as anyone who doesn't accept evolution either haven't studied it, doesn't understand it or simply doesn't want to believe it, which is a shame because it is an awesome natural process that explains everything beautifully :great:
To me, evolution just means a better more kickass Pokemon.

There is a difference between being devout and just thinking "Oh, if god does not exist I lose nothing and if he does exist I get eternal life. How can I lose?". Is that what you mean by "playing safe" or did I misinterpret that?Stats+ said:I have to go with the bible version all because I'm a Christian and want to have a good life. I'm just playing safe.
