I just want to discuss the pros of Facebook advertising. You can pay a minimum of $5 to run a campaign, I ran it for a day, $5 budget. My forums had 136 guests and these were my results.

Do you think the $5 was worth my time? I do, opinions on FB advertising please!

I think Facebook is worth it. After all you did get 19 visitors for your $5. The CTR seems like low but at least Facebook guarantees that get clicks and your ad was shown to 3000 people. The good thing about Facebook is that the ad is targeted so you should of got visitors that was related to your niche.

Exactly, your campaign is only shown to those who relate to the tags you put, I used like Call of Duty, a bunch of MMO's, things like that, could've reached millions of people, but for $5 I reached 3,000 views, 136 most online, and 19 website clicks, completely worth it!

That's interesting! Thank you for sharing this with us, it definitely peaked my interest. I'm curious, after doing this, did you see an increase in registrations and/or posts in your forum?

I vote for Facebook paid promotions as they help to generate good traffic for a website. I have used it couple of times before and had good leads for my business.

Sadly I did not, but my forum is very very new and not very appealing to members yet, because there is a lack of posts. We are like, 3-4 days old, starting a news section soon! However I ran another campaign and got about the same results, works very good! And yes I agree, I just need to get my forums up and running more before I run more campaigns thats what I learned.

I've been running an ad for a few weeks now. I see a lot of traffic but haven't gained many signups (maybe about 20ish people, over 2 weeks). Still its not bad for the price. I love also that you can REALLY target who sees your ad. I mean very fine control over this. I have a buncha criteria that they must like this and at least like that, but can't like this, or this, as their interests. You can select by age, gender, etc. MUCH more control than what google ads gives.

I also love that facebook billing is EXACT. GoogleAds is so risky you can end up going WAY over your budget, which scares the hell out of me, I'm a person, a hobbyist, not a corporation, I don't have a bajillion dollars to spend on ads.

Therefore, facebook ads is the best, because you will never go over the budget you set, and the excellent targeting methods. Plus millions of people use facebook every day, for hours a day - therefore, they're bound to see your ad.

I give facebook ads 2 thumbs up! :great:

Yes. when there is new content it gets posted automatic. Regarding paying, no. I don't use facebook since I don't really like it. But it's an good way o get traffic in

You do very well. But i didn't. I ran it for a day, $5 budget. I ran it for a day, $10 budget. My blog hadn't guests 🙁

Advertising on Facebook actually seems more beneficial than forum advertising, because in the end it's almost the same thing, and for $5, that's nothing.

Once I get a forum going, or a website, I think Facebook would be a contender along with Twitter. You're reaching real people, and it's nice that Facebook actually gives you stats on who your ads are reaching, and who is clicking on them. It's either a Facebook campaign or a Subway footlong. 😛

From all of the campaigns you've been making did you get any sign-ups to your site?

Good luck!

I love the way you distinguish the number of "men" and '' women, "click on the site

Facebook is one of the most popular social media all around the world today, so advertising on it is so beneficial for business. Facebook advertising will save more cost and higher efficiency, you need to make plan for budget and clear strategy before implementing advertisement as well as research the ads policy on Facebook.

I think Facebook ads is a good solution to attract the right targeted audience to your forum. However, you can optimize the cost by organizing a mini game to make your promoted post more viral & to reduce the cost.

The mini game can be like: Register at our forum, share & tag 3 friends in this post and one person will get a lucky prize based on lottery result. The prize may be $100. I'm sure after that you will get a lot of traffic and registration to your forum with the money you invest in facebook ads.

I see a lot of people are having good results with FB, I need to look into it more as far as configurations to make the most out of the advertisement(s). There was a $10 deal the other day but it was only for boosting one post. I've heard that the ads do fall short in promoting actual sign ups, though. tommyhulbert128 mini game idea seems like it would work to draw in more people.

It's not going to really work. Most Fecalbook users are too busy glued to their cell phones while catching Pokémon.

Forums are a dying breed. Good luck.

Unlike traditional Google AdWords options, you can actually target your Facebook advertisements according to the demographics and interests of your users - rather than simply targeting according to what they're searching for. Because of this, the refinements that are available to you when you set up audience targeting can be really impressive.

For me Facebook is best advertising method and also cheap.I get sales with only $10 budget.
