First Page on Google Search

Well, search "cPanel post2host" on Google and you will see edgedhost.com on the first page. 🙂 I think this is a pretty good accomplishment.

So what relevant terms on google search brings your website on the first page?

When "eclectic pagan" is searched in google, my Pagan forum comes up on the first page.

But its on page 7 when you search for "pagan forum" :lol:

It really depends on how you search on this 😛

My forum was on the Second page of google in Forum Promotion search query.

Also, it's best to clear your cookies, or search from a different computer that you haven't accessed your forum from, as Google will save that link the more you access it 😉

You have to think outside the box, and actually consider how many random people are actually going to put those 2 EXACT phrases in a Google search text box.

Barely Anyone.

Mine has several key phrases.

Brawl Forum, 3rd spot, first page.

Brawl Site ... first link, first listed site on that link.

Find brawl ... first spot

brawl opponents ... first spot

brawl match ... 3rd spot

brawl tournaments ... 5th spot

Its not even a query suggestion, so I'd look for another key term. I mean, I could have "dimrnfig" everywhere, google would index it, but it isn't likely people are going to search for it. If it is a query suggestion then there is much more chance that people are going to search that.

Actually, the search term "eclectic pagan" is one of the most common ways people find my forum. Its a common search team within the Pagan community.

Unless you know each genre, you cant comment on exactly what people are going to search for.

We are top under the search term "Forum Promotion" and we geta thousand hits a month from Google alone for this term. We are on page 2 forum forum advertising aswell which does being in a decent amount of hits. Additionally loads of people find us though other keywords. fml stories for example. Doesn't really relate to this forum but people still find us through it. More people find us though un related terms like this then they do through "Forum Promotion"

I actually recieve more hits from a 3rd page keyword than from a 1st page, 1st spot keyword.

Umm, no. I don't find your site anywhere on the first page. Clear your cookies and try again, or try from a different computer.

Results vary if you look through different versions of Google. In Google.co.uk you will get different results (sometimes) compared to Google.com.

🙁 darn it, google cached my websites and filtered my search. No wonder.

But when people are looking for webhost that have post2host hosting with cpanel, that's what they put most, according to my awstats.

Well, when you search Star Wars Lounge on Google, my forum (the old version and new) are at the top, but a real accomplishment for me would be if you search Star Wars Forums and mine is on the first page. I'm going to try and shoot up to that hopefully.

Meh, believe whatever you want. It took me about a year to find a decent post2host, and one that didn't have crap Vista Panel. In the course of that time I most likely searched those terms, or something very similar.

I highly doubt that.

Why do you doubt it? When most users find out that cPanel is what they want to look for if they are searching for a free host they will start putting that as one of the many terms they might put in with it.

Unless you are in the persons shoes you really can't determine what they do and do not search, however I suppose you can go ahead and doubt what ever you wish.

As for the topic,

Your website itself shows up second to bottom on the first page however, freewebspace has a spot for you on the first page which is third down so not bad.

You can find out how many people search Google for a particular search term, using Google's Keyword Tool. It's always worth checking before deciding on your keywords. I've sometimes been surprised to find that a keyword which I though would be popular, had few or no searches for it.
