Its call (WOT http://www.mywot.com/ ) The WOT add-on shows you which websites you can trust for safe surfing, shopping and searching on the web. Our safe surfing browser tool is easy-to-use, fast and completely free. Install it now!

It is also good at notifying of scam sites. If someone has been scammed by a site then they rate it bad and leave a comment. If alot of people have been scammed or have a bad experience a warning will show when you visit that site. Even if a site shows a safe, you can still check the comments to see if anyone has had problems in the past. Useful if you are investing in a site and are not sure if they are legit.

Since I have MacAfee I automatically get something just like that. 🙂 Thanks for sharing though.

I use a different antivirus program but yeah, same concept of this app. Does the same thing..

even if the site does not have a virus it shows if it child safe, Privacy, Trustworthiness.

I installed this a while back but it blocked and warned me about everything so i uninstalled it.

Already have MyWOT installed! 😀

And I have the McAfee SiteAdvisor plugin as well... and I have Norton Internet Security installed on my computer. :great:

I woun't know whether to trust it or not because you got to make sure it's kept up2date on a daily basis and the application updated on a minimum a weekly basis.

If they're going to make an app like this, it has to be kept updated you know.

I just use my brains for right now, thanks...

And how often does a new version of this application come out? And how often do you get a new database to your computer?

I think the site ratings are instantly updated. It is done by users submitting their opinions on the site and/or commenting on the site. If a site has been rated bad by alot of users then it will show a warning and give you a choice to see peoples comments or to still visit the site or rate it yourself.

I use it and it is very good and in my experience show who to trust and who not to trust.

Yes and if someone got a virus from the site you get a little warning basicly even if nothing shows up and your antivirus.

Well, i looked at google on mywot.com and 62 people say spyware and adware..? i would rather use my common sense if people do that on it. Same as yahoo.

I did see this a few months ago and though it was neat though.

This is because they track and record your visited sites. 😉

I don't use it and find it really easy to beat... I know a load of people that made millions of sites have a really bad rating and were perfectly fine. It's not hard to mask the rating due to it being done by popular vote... I knew a site that uploaded around 6 trojans and a RAT to your PC and had full ratings.

Since then I never used it and found it crap... I've removed everything from my PC that has ever got on it and I've done fine as it is now and I've gone on some really dodgy stuff. 😉
