Forum Promotion Survey

Nope! I haven't really read through what people wrote yet. I glanced at it and then copied and pasted into my spreadsheet and closed it up. That way my head is clear and when I go back to review and analyze I have a fresh mindset.

We'll leave this survey up for a couple more days and then I'll start going through the results. Not everything will be shared with the public but I will reveal some of the information that comes through because I know that you're as curious as I am about this 🙂

Thank you to everyone who took the time to fill out the survey. I am no longer accepting any more because I will be working on analyzing the data.

I've been looking over the survey results and here are some things that I want to share of those who submitted the survey:

The majority log in daily.

The majority selected Neutral for speed of the site loading

The majority selected Okay for Site Appearance

The majority selected Easy for Site Navigation

Suggestions to improve site: the majority want more services and resources offered

For Staff Friendliness it was close for Friendly and Okay

For Staff Competence the majority said Okay and second was Very Competent

For how fast Staff handles Issues, Requests and Concerns it was a 3 which was the middle option

Age Groups that most submitted the survey were from 22-29 and 30-45

85% of those who submitted own a Forum or Blog

Reasons for not visiting: Not enough Webmaster related topics/posts, Not enough Services offered, Staff should use FP$ Exchange more

What would encourage members to visit more: Besides the items listed in Reasons for not visiting, Staff should be posting daily

So mainly are okay with most and 85% own forum and blog is a high good number 😉

So what services will be added 😛

We'll have to brainstorm and see what we can come up with!

As the one who was operating the review service at the end; even with the community being able to provide their own reviews, no reviews were being done on different sites, and the last couple people on the team, refused to do reviews on anything that wasn't related to the sites they personally ran.

It’s difficult running a review team/service, really need dome dedicated knowledgeable people to do the reviews.

What are the Pros and Cons of the Review Team?

What are the Pros and Cons of the Review Team?
Pros:
1. Being able to receive ideas or suggestions from someone that is outside of your own community base.
2. Being able to receive information on areas that could be done better (graphics, designs, guidelines, layouts and such).
3. Getting a more fresh approach to something that you want to specifically get a review on, regardless of official service or public opinion.

Cons:
1. Takes time for thought out reviews.
2. Not everyone has the ability to express what needs to be adjusted, as well as other people.
3. The reviewer/requestor being afraid the person on the other end getting angry over what was written, and/or the response to what was written.
4. If provided as a service, takes time to find people willing to take time to write up something that can be used to help the person requesting the review.

Why not implement community reviews but in a slightly more effective way? It seems that most users would be able to provide great feedback for users but the section is hidden away at the moment. Move the reviews section back to the index page and offer a proper incentive for users to provide feedback. Have a few rules and guidelines so that people leave some useful feedback.
