why do you want to change hosts?

It will make it alot easier for staff and better for users.

It will also be hell of alot better for me and efc as most features we have here are by default in vb and there is many more which aren't available for phpBB3 by default or in for of a mod. Also mods can be installed very quickly with VB too.

Expect phpBB4 in about 5 years time. It's taken about 5 years to get phpBB3 out since phpBB2 was released.

If your going with vB, your probably best waiting until 3.7 goes GOLD .. I'm using BETA atm, but I can deal with database backups ect..

But, soon you may have to upgrade the server, as vB is very resource intensive, and the more members, the more resources you need.

It really depends on what features you enable too... Alot of features they have we won't use anyway.

Well yes, but there isn't many features you can disable, as vB is pretty resource intensive anyway.

I love vB, I think it's great. I've got to know it so well, that I even release hacks on vB, as I've taken up more and more coding, and have become very good.

But, you will need to upgrade the server sooner or later, so it's best you get yourself a good amount of money, so you can pay hosting ect. I'm only giving you advice, but vB would be a great addition, so much user friendly.

The cost is one thing that is delaying it the most. The features i was talking about are mainly all the pointless things like users viewing the forum and users viewing this topic and other little things like that.

The annoying thing is that vb is turning more into a social network software as take a look at the profiles ( http://www.techsupportteam.org/forum/member.php?u=67 ) it is more like myspace then a forum -roll-

It isn't just that... The friends box, the ability to upload a background for you profile (the above is a good example of why whoever decided on that idea needs to be shot).

I think it's time to upgrade to vB,

the forum's stats seem to be lowering Member-Wise, and we could do with something new and exciting to attract new members.

I think vB or SMF would be good. If money is a problem, SMF is the way to go, you can get it for free. SMF also has themes that you can add, so that it looks like vB.

We will be moving hosts first as Lunarpages have it in for me big time and in order to keep this place alive we need to move asap.

Afterwards depending on how much money we have left we will decide.
