This new forum of mine is based off of this forum. The main difference is the TLD is different. Instead of a .net it is a .us. I am targeting US traffic. Obviously this forum is way better and far more advanced. I don't have all the categories/forum lists that this forum has ether.

Well to be honest. It would be another backlink. In addition, just because someone visits one site, doesn't mean they wont visit another site in the same genre. I myself visit a couple of places like this place, along with other admin forums. I could do advertising that FP.net doesn't do or reach a different audience. Why do others promote their own promotion forums on here? As I am writing this and looking at the bubble ads listed above it, I count like 4 forums that are the same genre. Plus I am just promoting it, this will not be the only forum I promote it on.

How is your forum "way better and far more advanced" than this forum? It looks to me like you're trying to replicate this forum by copying topics, categories, boards, services, etc. It looks like you have just reworded things. What makes your forum unique?

The problem isn't the genre, it's the damn name.
Could you have not been unique at all? That's like seriously disrespectful to the staff team here, that you couldn't even come up with your own original name, so you copied theirs and just used a different domain extension.

As an owner of an advertising forum, I see this as a disgrace to our/my image. No unique theme, name, index, logo (if that's what you call at the top left), hell, even the favicon isn't unique. I suggest you try selling the domain to a company that handles forum promotion, and just try to take it for that. Don't even try.

Wow, posting this seemed like I was asking to be bashed...and here I thought this forum was friendly....anyways, it isn't going to deter me, but make me push harder. Lets clear things up.

First and foremost the forum is brand new...5 days old. I needed a domain name and went with FP.us...In due time I will make a .com for it with a unique name as well as providing unique content, services, and packages. A lot of forums such as forumeze.com and advertise hotspot have similar packages, services and forum topics. That clears up the replies from 2787cmt and Conner L...

Now to reply to CodyCFS....how are you going to say what you said, considering your forum is basically the same. You have about the same packages, just different number of posts. Not only that but you call it our/my image...considering your forum is only 22 days old. Like you have had this image for much longer than I ....as a matter of fact, your forum looks like it has about the same mods as FP.net does. I also notice there will be 2 mods that I will install that will make mine better in the long run.

Anyways, thanks for your positive(for me) yet very negative feedback people.

Delirius, forget what everyone above said. Their moronic posts enlighten me and I think many other knowledgeable Admins. Forumpromotion.net itself isn't unique (the domain), or the .com would have been purchased. One thing I want to say is change the forum sections and all will be well.

Your rules topic is more than similar. It's a modified replica. You have switched around words and removed a few words here and there. At the end of the day, it's the same topic though. If you're planning on having a successful promotion forum, you need unique services anymore. A couple years ago, you could just copy another promotion forum and succeed, but these days aren't the same. I put an emphasis on the fact that even Fowler admits that this forum is a mixture of copied ideas and original ideas. There is no way to create a forum completely original. If you have seen other forums before, you will always have a mindset in the back of your head regarding the forums you viewed, whether it's what you like about the specific forum, what you dislike, etc. I also wish you luck on getting your forum to grow right away if you are only promising to have all this unique stuff in the future. You are advertising today. How will the people you advertise to join today? They see a lot of empty boards and content that is not unique. That isn't attractive. With that being said, you need to fill up the empty boards. I apologize for the bashing your forum is receiving, I have been here for nearly two years, and every time a promotion forum is advertised here that is similar to this forum, people freak out and bash the forum being advertised. They need to realize that not all of the services here were original to this forum either. Also, "Forum Promotion" is a generic term, so you would think that you wouldn't get bashed for having a forum with the same name and a similar domain. The generic term though has sort of given birth though, as a term of this forum's. It really isn't how it is, but that's the way most members here feel about it. I don't recommend advertising a forum so similar to this forum here. People are quick to ridicule.

Actually, his site, Forumansion is a well established community, it's just jumped around hosts several times. It's been around for at least 2-3 years if I remember correctly, a former staff member here used to own it, I could be wrong, but I distinctively remember being a member of the original.

If you actually knew forums, you'd see that it is hosted on ForuMotion and cannot support 'MODs.' But do as you please.
Oh, by the way, our guidelines, favicon, and (most of) our images are made by our staff for us. So don't even go there. 😉

Well you don't have much content as of now...and I see that your domain has only been registered for 22 days... Jumping around hosts and domains names shows me that your forum can't be trusted to stay alive....My favicon and logo are hand made by me...I can even send you the original files that can be edited using Adobe Fireworks....so don't try to go there and say mine are not unique.

Ohh I know forums, this isn't the only one I have. I just don't use a forum hosting company that will limit my coding abilities. Anyways you are limited to what you can do by being hosting by ForuMotion...I am not, which will make mine better in the end at least in my opinion.

I think you are just "jelly" or being a "hater" because I will be competition for you. Bash it all you want or try to laugh it up in my face, but like I said before, that will just push me harder to have a better forum then you.
