I've heard of some people talking about forums dying down due to social networking, yet I agree.

What do you guys think?

Well, 10 year's ago who would have thought Blockbuster would go bankrupt? 🙂

I think alfred01 is saying that forums had a good run. But now social networking is over running forums. But i think forums still have a few years in them before they all die off.

They may not, if it does I'd be down because forums have great value.

I highly doubt that... social networking will only take people who make simple comments about things. People who want good conversation about a certain subject will also be forum users.

I had a thread on this and this has been all over the internet lately Will Yes
I agree forums are dying but they still have A few years though

Usenet is technically still kicking so I think forums have a way to go.

I couldn't say, life is strange and usually surprises us, but i think it looks like social networking is eating forums. x)

I mean, most of people prefer social networking than forums for sharing their likes and opinions, and im already seeing some forums that are just copying social networking sites, which i believe it is silly, cause if a forum offers the same of a social networking... then people will choose the social networking.

I think they can be compatible, it would be a great pity if forums disappear, i hate facebook. ¬_¬

Will Xenfero. Might save forums they are new social networkung software

My option is that older forums that game before Facebook will remain active but newer forums may find it harder to become active

Forums are not dyeing.
Its a fact that a LOT of new Forums are made and most of them fails because of improper administration. It makes people believe forums are dyeing.
Forums that have good administration will surely become success.

Why, why why are people still posting these topics? Sure, there are sites like Facebook, MySpace, whatever out there. But coming out with forums is still a popular trend, and I know many people prefer forums over, say, Facebook because a forum can be more stimulating than any social networking site, because you can make your forum more fun by adding all kinds of things to keep members interested as well as occupied. I don't see the phase of forums going down the drain any time soon.

Dying. Not Dyeing. Completely different meanings lol 😉.

I think they are decreasing but will never actually die. Many people still prefer them over social networks.

I like facebook But at the moment I like forums becuase you can actuslky have real Disscussions

I agree. I couldn't care less about what social networking does compared to forums..... ^^ It may be a way to get old people online lol

Forums aren't dying just because your maybe are. Stop generalising things.
No, this isn't been going on only on my forum. I've been noticing, considering there are many threads on other forums like this. 😉
