ForumSpark Development

Edited to add that I got it to work. Had to register again and then it linked.

What's not working?

Getting started: You'll need to register a new account on the Hub. ( https://forumspark.net/hub/login ) If you use the same email you've already been using on ForumSpark, it'll automatically link your existing forums to your Hub account - no extra steps needed.

That was the part I didn't read, it was my mistake. I was so excited to get started I didn't know I had to register again. oops I've used the same email for all the forumspark accounts. So when I went to them, I put my password in and got linked. Thanks for all the work on this, it will really make things easier for members.

Oooh the hub shows all the notifications so I don't have to go around pecking and hunting!

The hub is designed to be your starting point. Easily get up to date what happened and click what is within your interest. 😀

Yeah, I did not even make a main account on the hub XD - works now

Ooh I wasn't expecting this to be implemented so fast! Thank you for this feature Cedric! 😀

I have used forums built on Forum Spark and they look great.
By the way what does "user can download personal data" mean? Does this mean forum can be migrated to other software?
Also, is there a premium feature, I mean can someone use custom domain?

It means, you can download whatever FS holds about you content wise. And yes custom domains are possible.

Hi everyone,

I've just released ForumSpark 1.3.2. This update includes several CSS fixes and general improvements, along with a few new features.

What's new in this version:

  • Pages can now use HTML or BBCode as the content format
  • Added multiple account / alias support
  • Added secondary group support
  • Redirect forums can now optionally open in a new window
  • Fixed double posting issue where it would duplicate content when hitting Add Reply twice.
Multiple Account Support: It's now possible to post under an alias, which can be especially useful for RPG-style communities or forums where members use multiple characters.

Admins can enable or disable this feature from the settings:

When enabled, a new link will appear on the user profile page:

Aliases will also appear on the public profile page, and a tooltip will indicate which account owns the alias.

Secondary Groups Support:

You can now assign secondary groups to members. This allows you to grant access to certain forums or permissions without changing a member’s primary group.

As always, if you run into any issues or have suggestions for future improvements, feel free to let me know. Feedback is always welcome and helps make ForumSpark better with every release.

Thanks to everyone using and showing your support!

I was able to make some good progress on a theme Jamie initially started. It's his previous design for a community I once ran in 2015.

There's some bugs and unfinished things, but overall it's coming together nicely and I assume it'll be released sometime this week or the week after.

Thank you for adding the multi account feature! Also Forum Dynamic, now that brings back memories! Keep up the awesome work Cedric.

I’m planning to upgrade our servers tomorrow afternoon, when most communities are quiet. So there will be some downtime involved, but only so slightly:

Whose afternoon? Yours or mine?

If you're referring to Monday afternoon then it'll have to be today. Tomorrow is Tuesday.
