ForumSpark Development

If I want to monetize my forum, I would have to subscribe and become a premium member of ForumSpark, which costs €12/month (about CAD $20). That feels like a lot of money for a starter package. For monetization, I feel it should be available to everyone.
I disagree. Cedric makes minimal money out of this and puts a lot of his time into it. It's not like Xenforo where you pay for the software to use it.

He should add Google Adsenses like what Forumotion does.

I understand what you mean, but it’s as Gizmo says, ForumSpark gives you a chance to start a forum fully packed of features for free. It’s easy to use, scalable, and there’s is so much available for free that you don’t need to pay for Premium.

And although FS doesn’t cost me much to run at the moment, I spent about easily 30 hours a week to improve the software for everyone. I do this out of passion but passion doesn’t pay my bills either. So Premium gives you the ability to monetize your community. While the first Premium plan is just a starting point, what you really want is the second plan. Which will give you much more ability to monetize and build out a forum. The second plan will be available in a couple of months with extra features that are really worth investing into.

What you also need to consider is that FS gives you the chance to fully focus on the community. There is no setup, no technicalities you need to know or take care of. Everything is managed, maintained and updated for you. So part of the premium is just getting more features, another part is being able to monetize, and another part is a bit “donating” or “supporting” FS in a way that you never need to worry about anything else but your community. Also. You can add Google adsense even on the free plan, but that’s honestly peanuts. Adsense should be a very last resort to gain funds.
Also, you can already manually monetize the free plan. Premium just gives you the automated tools.

Hope that clears up. 😊

Release 1.7.0

Release 1.7.0

We’re getting close to 2.0 now, and a lot of this release is groundwork to make that jump smoother and break less along the way.But it’s not all plumbing - there’s a big new feature for anyone who likes their board just so, a proper “install it like an app” upgrade, and a handful of quality-of-life...

Thought I’d share a few screenshots of what’s coming. 🙂

There are a couple of new features, a lot of redesign work going on, and so far we’ve already changed over 700 files. 😅 So it’s safe to say this is basically a completely reinvented version of the software.

There will be more customization possibilities, more features, better optimization, and more. We’ve also added a new AI topic summary feature, several smart and live additions that help make a community feel more alive instead of static, and a much-improved search system.

I’m really excited to bring this new version to you soon. There’s no ETA yet, and I don’t want to reveal too much just now, but enjoy these new screenshots. ☺️

Some things are still subject to change.
