Which side are you? Free Britney or have her remain in the conservatorship?

I agree with what her father did from the start, she was a very bad stat, However, 11 years on and now he's using her and her money to the point that it's now fully wrong on him doing it. She's better she's now on her own terms and control and she's stuck on not doing her own life.

I hope that she wins

Is there more to the story that maybe I don't know about? I mean, did she threaten to kill her kids or something?

I think her father took control of her assets when she was going off the rocker so to speak, a few years back. She was walking dumpster fire. Now that she seems to have cleaned up her act (no pun intended) I feel like she should have the rights to her money that she's made, with HER talent. The fact her father is now using it for his own means, is wrong.

I personally could never use/spend my kid's money, no matter how old they were. That's just wrong.

Back in 2008 she was battling a lot of mental health issues and was hospitalized over it. To protect not only herself but her image and finances she the conservatorship was created with her father and a co-conservator. Apparently since then the estate has gone from being in debt to nearly a value of 60 Million. However, throughout the years Brittney has been as you would say "restricted" upon what she can do as the conservatorship was made permanent in 2008 to protect the image and finances. The battle now is more to allow her the freedom to live her own life outside of these restrictions.

But what's the point of having a grown adult woman need a conservatorship after all these years? It doesn't make sense.

Oh that's easy. Money. Through the conservatorship her father still has access and basically control and say so over her money she makes from all sources. So if he is removed, income = 0. While keeping her under the conservatorship, income = $$$.

I remember people like to link Craig Ferguson's monologue where he explains why he isn't making fun of Britney because he sees something he experienced himself once. Saw another one posting the video just recently. Guess this documentation reminded some of that again?

Which I do remember that. I agree with not making fun of Britney for what she went through especially if you have experienced it or something similar to it.

A long time ago she was having some issues. I think she's probably matured and learned from her mistakes. I think she deserves another chance to be in charge of her finances.

Britney Spears is 39 years old. She shouldn't have anyone else controlling her life. The power her father appears to have over her is insane. I remember that she had a mental breakdown of sorts all those years ago, but I don't understand why that's still relevant in 2021.

Simply because the conservatorship was made indefinite all those years ago which is why she is fighting for it to end.

Whoever gave her father conservatorship should have limited it for a short period of time and made it to where her father couldn't spend a dime of her money.

The conservatorship was granted to her father and a co-conservator at the time. However preventing him from spending a dime of her money wouldn't have made it that much better at the time as they were already in debt due to some of Brittney's financial decisions. However, I do think when they were no longer in debt (which was a few years after the conservatorship was put into place) then it should have ended as long as Brittney was in a better place mentally then she was at the time of the conservatorship going into place. If spending the money meant a positive outcome for her such as removing the debt then I am all for it. Beyond that I feel it is just selfish.
