The first rule of a successful forum is having decent forum software. If you are serious about your forum and want it to go far then unfortunately you will have to invest a bit of money into it. The good thing is, you can make it all back in the long run. Anyway, get decent software such as vBulletin or IPB and then find a professional looking skin. Next up is to get a domain name. Your domain at the moment has forumotion in it which isn't so good for Google and doesn't look particularly good to potential members. Try and buy http://www.trustworthyuters.co.uk/ if it's not taken. Then advertise, advertise, advertise. Sure my forum usually gets 1,000 posts a day, but you have to take into consideration that it is nearly 4 and a half years old. I have put years of time, effort and money into the community and I have been rewarded with a fantastic, loyal member base. Also, as the forum becomes bigger, it gives you options to sell advertising space and try and make some money back. Due to the size of my forum, it actually costs me $50 a month just to keep it on the Internet... and even that's mates rates.
I hope that's been useful to you. Just keep plugging (excuse the pun) away 🙂
