I would like some assistance with tricks and suggestions for getting traffic and clients to my services. I currently have twitter, and some forum memberships, as well as advertisements on some select sites. What else can I be doing?

Try finding forums that are within your niche, and thus advertise there showing off your skills or what you can offer new clients who join.

I also ditto what others have said, try finding a forum in your niche, or even a general forum, and advertise there and make some friends. Joining, posting, and then periodically bumping a thread won't do to much. Exchanges and things like that will also help people on that forum get to know you and your forum as well, which is also a huge benefit.

I started using a freelance seo 'expert' on peopleperhour. He had good reviews so here's hoping. I'm also using postloop to help build initial content and activity. Still waiting for Organic traffic, but my site looks pretty busy and active. I also find Reddit good, if you have quality pages to link to.

In my experience with Postloop you can get good content if you set the required rating to 4.5 and up, as well as clearly communicating your requests/rules in the description. That weeds out most of the low quality posting, but you are also able to get refunded if any posts are not up to par. There will always be some bad apples everywhere and most people use Potloop as a temporary thing anyways.
