GigaForums got hacked!

Guys, I have a very serious problem on my hands right now. This forum got hacked and I as the admin and owner got banned forever with the message "Your account has been banned to recover it please send your log in details to - [email protected]". This sounds very sketchy to me. I also received an email with a subject "Recover you site!" and reads:

Clearly a script kiddie. Doesn't Byethost17 have a support system you can email? He got in banned you and then PM'ed you from his own account a fake system message. Far too obvious. Your host should be able to get you back in I would think.

If you are good with databases and stuff and you have access to a cpanel for your hosting/site then you can edit your account in phpadmin and change your password and get it unbanned

You cannot directly contact them, so I opened a ticket.

If you are good with databases and stuff and you have access to a cpanel for your hosting/site then you can edit your account in phpadmin and change your password and get it unbanned

I have full cpanel access to it. How would I change my password?

Load up your cPanel and find phpMyAdmin, and edit your password and account status via that. phpMyAdmin allows you to directly edit and interact with the forum database without the need for the frontend software.

I tried that, reset my password and now I cannot even log in and see the thing. I attempted to hijack the hackers account by changing the email and password but I cannot login to that either.

Also they changed the security question at sign up to "Yh momma name?".

Would simply deleting the hackers' accounts via phpmyadmin solve this?

Number one, I would choose a good host, who is Byethost17? Never in my 7 years of doing this have I heard of them. Also, I would just restart the project. It would start you fresh again, new ideas of how to do things and what not. At this point, you are working harder, not smarter. Just saying.

Number one, I would choose a good host, who is Byethost17? Never in my 7 years of doing this have I heard of them. Also, I would just restart the project. It would start you fresh again, new ideas of how to do things and what not. At this point, you are working harder, not smarter. Just saying.

My forum was starting to thrive with new users and posts, unlike anytime before in its life. If I could get this fixed it would be awesome.

Pretty much every other host is not free. I have absolutely no money to spend on web hosting. I tried hosting it on my Raspberry Pi once and everybody complained there was no CSS.

Whether a forum is new or not do a backup of it every single day. If you don't and you get hacked the only person you can really blame is yourself for not being dedicated enough.

I've tried to learn how to hack but for the past many years I've been online for I've never hacked one single forum. It is too difficult for me.
