GigaForums got hacked!

I would go for a bigger forum rather than a smaller forum if I was to ever gain the experience.

I just see it all the time people get upset that their forum has been hacked or they have deleted a file or whatnot and they were the ones who never did a backup.

That's why our Anime forum have some protection from another site hue hue.

It's most likely someone that you annoyed or didn't give a staff position to maybe? I doubt a big hacker is going to target a small forum hosted on a free domain. Were you rude to anyone, especially a member?

It's most likely someone that you annoyed or didn't give a staff position to maybe? I doubt a big hacker is going to target a small forum hosted on a free domain. Were you rude to anyone, especially a member?

No, I let someone else be an admin simply to change the theme, then they started advertising via PM (which is against the rules), then I gave them a warning that only increased their warning level by 20%, and then this whole thing started (I think).

No, I let someone else be an admin simply to change the theme, then they started advertising via PM (which is against the rules), then I gave them a warning that only increased their warning level by 20%, and then this whole thing started (I think).

So we know (possibly) why this happened. Next time don't give out admin to anyone unless they are a trusted member. If you need any help post your problems here on FP and there will always be someone willing to help. Did you manage to get it back now?

Yeah, whoever did this was a complete idiot and a very large noob. All the "hacker" did was ban the admin group, which was dumb because the "hacker" was the leader of the admin usergroup, change the answer to the security question to disallow any correct answers, and change the owners password. If you are going to hack a forum, at least "hack" it.

Did you accidentally keep their admin permissions on them when you gave them a warning?

NO!! STEVEO IS A HACKER NEVER GIVE HIM OR ANYONE YOUR INFORMATION PLEASE!

He is banned on my forum for the same thing, abusing power and trying to hack my site.

I'd definitely only make people you know and trust an admin because of the dangers now.

I strongly recommend that you do not send any information that that email address, as the hacker is probably trying to hack more of your sites/accounts by getting your info.
