Re: Good statistics for a 5 day old site?
Personally, a substantial post should be more than just two sentences. A paragraph or two would be good enough. A pet peeve that I have is when someone starts a thread and basically copies the title over to the post. That's a really lazy way to go about things, and I'm sure you understand that.
I'm glad to hear that your forum is catching on! My reason for responding is that you were inquisitive about a certain amount of statistics, so I had my say. Try to combine the overall depth of five posts into one, and see where things go from there. The more elaborate, the better. It gives the discussion more substance, and you'll get more activity.
I may be mistaken on this one, but even if they don't add to a member's post count, they still add to the overall post count. Nothing wrong with having fun, but I'm really talking about forums that make "goals" to have a certain amount of posts by a certain date. Those are just forced and go nowhere.Xyphien said:Forum games such as the 100,000,000 posts do not count towards our forum posts 🙂 All of our content is helpful, valid, and required content for the most part. Of course, you can't stop a post here and there from getting off topic for a few before the mods get it back on topic, but other than that all the posts are 100% genuine, helpful, and grade A posts. A lot of the posts are Q&A's that people need help for, for the program, others are about resources and addons for the program, etc.
I had no intentions or expectations of the forum to get big to be honest. It just sort of happened, and I now have a super active forum out of no where because the stars aligned, and people caught onto the site some how lol.
