The people that spam only spam because they can't hack. If someone spams your forum and threatens to hack you ignore them as they probably would have a clue where to start. If they knew how to hack, they wouldn't waste their time spamming a site.Donkey said:Worst I've had was a mass spamming. Never been hacked.
Yup, that and vBulletin is INVINCIBLE.Fowler said:The people that spam only spam because they can't hack. lol where'd you hear that? No forum script is invincible, a less popular one will be safer though since not as many people will look into it's bugs 😉Donkey said:Yup, that and vBulletin is INVINCIBLE.Fowler said:The people that spam only spam because they can't hack. You're right. I should commence a server cleanout soon. 🙂 I only add mods by reputable people at vb.org and I very rarely add mods anyway.Fowler said:Nothing is invincible. If someone wants to get then, they will get it. Also while the script is pretty secure, the same could not always be said about the server that it is running on or the mod you add to it.
Think back to a few months ago when phpBB.com was down after being hacked. It was hacked by a exploit in phplist which is a separate bit of software hosted on the same server. It tool the site offline while it had nothing to do with the forum software.
