has your forum ever been hacked?

Well actually, multi-forums hosts have an option of storing sites in multiple databases, but not like individual database for individual sites.
But anyway, i hate Forumotion. Its insecure, and it won't give you full access.

I've never had a forum I owned or was staff on successfully be hacked. Ive been a member of a couple forums that have gotten hacked.
I have received a couple threats before from the same person, but they gave up on my site and tried hacking the host I was a director on.
He stopped trying once I showed him how easily I could hack his site. 😛 lol. I didn't do anything bad to his site, but it scared him enough to make him stop.

Forumotion was the very first host I ever used. Even back in 2008 they sucked. Downtime just about every weekend; people kept thinking it was MY fault when it very well wasn't. Friday night through Sunday morning, I must've gone through plenty of PMs or emails of: Why were we down over the weekend again. They truly are a crappy host and I wouldn't even think about recommending a newbie forum owner to them. The ACP looks as though it was thrown together in a matter of five minutes. Probably something I could've even done if I had a little know-how in regards to coding and such.

I have never been hacked, but another site I sold got hacked after I sold it.

What would what version of a forum software you're using have anything to do with it? #1 is only common sense. Unless there're serious bugs you should try to upgrade ASAP; as soon as the version is released, but I'm confused on #2. Is it the older the version of the software you're using, the easier it is to hack?

Check there!" What these guys don't realize is that just because a solution worked for member A, doesn't exactly mean that the same solution will work for you as well. Ive had bad support experience with forumotion the hacker that threated me took it to there support forum saying His going to destroy forumotion servers by one button all they did is account banned him so i put up a support thread they lock it and said we already delt with him he could still get in via another account an IP ban would,ve been better so there support is crap my forum was minorly hacked 5 times there mainly my founder account!
My whole website got hacked and I had luck to have my hosting account on a different email adress 😀 the hacker hacked my email and all my pages and I had to backup everything and change every thing because he changed every single possible info

It's one thing to dislike a host, but to threaten to hack it or take it down is something else altogther. Every person is entitled to their own opinion, but to take an opinion to that extreme is only asking for trouble.
