Help! Convert Forumotion database to new forum host?

Hello

Lately I really want to move my forum ( http://www.fudgepromotion.com ) to this free forum host: http://www.createmybb.com/ . I don't care about the domain, I can get another, but I want to move all the members and posts too!
Any suggestions? I have NO idea what to do, how to do it, no matter how simply put the suggestions.
I am willing to give 600 FP$ to anyone who does it for me.

okay, i really don't know if this is possible because you want to convert from a modified phpbb2 to mybb. PLUS, you want to go from one free host to another free host.

Don't think it's possible...
 
What you should do is move to a free webhost that has mybb on it. I know that is possible since others have done it such as Forumotion. Not sure about moving to another free forum host though.
 
You can only convert-out Forumotion to a host-it-yourself solution (phpBB 3). Guys like Forumansion became MyBB when you convert phpBB 3 to MyBB (essentially Forumotion > phpBB 3 > MyBB), which isn't hard to do, really, cause essentially anything can convert from phpBB 3.

Well, to save you some time, here's the converter. The python script will create for you a few .sql files (database), one for categories/forums, one for users, and one for posts/topics, then you upload those via. phpMyAdmin to an existing phpBB 3 installation (installation of most forum software is very similar and easy, I won't go into it), but phpMyAdmin isn't as straightforward, so the tutorial I wrote on restoring a database (which are the same steps) will help.

nneonneo's script also has a third script that will PM all your members on the Forumotion forum their new passwords, as the crawler converter won't do that. If you're on Windows, you'll also have to download Python. Just install that and the scripts basically run itself.
 
I'd definitely switch to something like MyBB if you need a free forum solution, if you don't mind paying, check out XenForo or IP.Board 🙂
 
The only problem is that XenForo doesn't have a phpBB converter yet and is still in beta. Don't get me wrong, I want it to do well, I really do, but not yet.
 
Just one thing, don't do createmybb, their host sucks.

If you want free mybb host, use topixcube. But then again, just download myBB

They thought, ha ha. Someone really kind is transferring my forumotion forum Advertising Mania to a new host using the converter and I think is almost done.

Also, forumotion said your not allowed to use the converter but what can they do once we're moved, it's not illegal.
