I'm not sure if this is allowed but if not then remove the link.

Recently I've stumbled upon funding campaign websites such as Kickstarter and Indiegogo.

I was browsing through the campaigns out of curiosity which inspired me to create my own genuine campaign titled 'Get Kim through College' which many others have done so.

I'll be starting College this September, and because I'm unemployed, finance is going to be incredibly tough.

I'm unable to get student loans or any other form of finance as it's not an undergraduate degree. Thankfully the state will pay the tuition fee but transportation, equipment, living costs etc will be hard to finance.

Upon passing the Access to HE, it will grant me entry into most UK Universities to major in Psychology.

I'm going to post a link to the campaign, don't worry I'm not asking for money off you guys or anything but to just share it on Facebook, Twitter etc. I'd appreciate it. ;D

Help Kim through College

Why not just apply for financial aid? Just what we need in this world, more people to abuse the system and steal other people's money.

I don't qualify for student finance or any other grants because it's not an undergraduate degree, it's a self funding course only. Also, my City is the wost hit City in the United Kingdom in terms of recession. There are no jobs, I've been seeking and applying for a long time but to no avail.

You just contradicted yourself
"Thankfully the state will pay the tuition fee but transportation, equipment, living costs etc will be hard to finance."

Your transportation fee's and living cost's need to be from your self, go get a job for 1 year, save up some money/etc. Don't come here crying and asking other people for there hard earned money, when thousands of kid's right now are out working there butt's off because they didn't even get financial aid. Do you think that is fair?

No, I do not think that is fair at all but like I said, Hull has zero jobs.

I've been doing nothing but work experience and voluntary work to enhance my CV but I'm still unable to obtain a job.

Why don't you take out a loan? If you need money to get a degree to get a job and earn money, it won't be unreasonable to pay that money back in a reasonable amount of time.

I have gone to college and obtained my associates myself, it's great but as you... I cannot find a job as no one will hire me because of all of the people that apply. I do wish that I had gotten some kind of job first, before I went to college because my college won't let me back in until I give them money, which I don't have because I can't get a job, even if I have a degree.
So, I do think it's better to get a job first. Even though, as you said they are very difficult to find where you are.

Saying "I can't find a job" is just a scapegoat excuse of being lazy. Yes I said it, sorry I just cannot stand people asking for free money.

That is not true at all, it is very hard to find a job. I know, I've been searching for a year, been on 17 interviews and I've only obtained volunteer ones. It's tough out there; although there are people that are actually lazy. But you cannot assume that someone is being lazy, you weren't there so you don't know.

You're wrong, it's very safe to assume you're lazy when asking for free money.

I don't think that's fair to say, really. The fact is that many people are having difficulty finding jobs since there are very few out there right now. While your area may not have been hit as hard by the economic crisis, there are areas that have been hit very hard by it and simply don't have any jobs available. I would thank you to be a bit less judgmental.

I agree when someone is asking for free money, there could a problem with their work ethic seeing as though they have had a long time to find a job, and have probably passed over a lot of opportunities.
Though, for all we know they could have been laid off from their last position.

I do know, though, from experience how hard it is out there at the moment. I've been looking to be in a position to leave my current job since July 2011, and have been spending a lot of time applying for new jobs so I'd have something to go to and I can put in my two weeks. I'm still in the same place I've been the past four years.

Don't worry, I'll pay your way through college. Here's $50,000 😛

Okay - guys, no need to get into a debate here and point fingers. And Speakwhatsreal, you don't need to Speak what's real all the time. No need to be so judgmental. There's no crime in asking for a little support. She's not asking for free money, she's asking for support. There's a difference. It is tough to find a job, and she's been trying. If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Thank you. This is the absolute best post in this thread so far.

You can't judge someone without knowing his/her FULL set of circumstances.

Thank you Snobo for your kind words, 😛. I just don't like it when people pick on each other on a forum.

As I mentioned before, it is not a degree so I'm not entitled to any form of student finance, grants, bursary's or scholarship.

This course simply gives me the certificate to get into University to study for a degree.

As for being lazy, I'm far from it. I spent my days job hunting and make it priority alongside voluntary work and work experience. I'm desperate for work but like mentioned the recession is making it very difficult to obtain a job.

Guys - I think it's been established that she can't get a loan. For god's sake, leave her alone and donate if you can and if you can't or don't want to go away and don't say anything. LOL.

Not to be brash... but this many posts in such a little time asking repetitive questions is annoying lol.
