Well it was april fools, none of the active members on the forum had any complaints whatsoever infact they found it funny. So i guess your opinions dont matter to me. I got the idea from someones post on xenforo.com who did a simaler thing, it is s common thing for april fools and i have seen it done many times over past years. Im sorry that you people cant take a joke and im just glad my members arnt a misarable lot like your good selves.

Wow... You guys really do not have a sense of humor at all.. This has happened to me many times of many different forums. There is a hacking community called the Arab nation so it seemed legitimate. No one there seemed to take offense to it, infact, some people were sorry they missed it.
You don't care about our opinions? Well that says something in itself... The reason your active members don't seem to mind at the moment is because they are safe in the knowledge that their personal details have not actually been released to some Arab hacking group!

Its not that we 'dont care' it that you guys have taken this the completely the wrong way.. The members were told within minutes, either by PM or via an announcement. they were fully aware of the situation, hell, we even had a link in the navigation telling them that we were pulling an aprils fool on them.

I think this topic has served it's purpose now and probably shouldn't have been here this long due to the fact this isn't actually support which is what this section is for really.
Many users here have been victims of hackings or crackings and especially last year when many forums were hacked/cracked and large amounts of users forums, email accounts, PayPal accounts and Godaddy accounts were taken over. Because of this, some users here or some users in general who have faced these issues will not find it funny at all and the breach of a sites security and possible disclosure of hundreds or thousands of members details is not something that should be joked about. I personally have spent many many many hours trying to protect this site and protect all the users information here... Why? Because if users information is actually stolen from here because of a malicious hacker, do you think the members would be ok about it? I don't think they would so why joke about it happening and risk angering members? Even if the members were fine about it, do you think they were fine when they first noticed? Do you think it has turned away any members? Has it hurt your reputation to potential members? Yes. Does it set a good message to your members about the forum when the admin jokes about a serious security breach? Some people find throwing fireworks to be funny and a joke but some people don't... same applies to hacking especially if you have been a victim yourself or know victims and the damage that can be done.
You should care what peoples opinions are on here baring in mind you are promoting here to get more members. Your "joke" has caused 3 members in this topic to have a lower opinion of the site. That is 3 potentially active members from here that you may miss out on now. I just fail to see why risk angering your members and turning away potential members for the sake of a joke. You should not only care about the opinions of you current members. You should care about what everyone outside your forum who are not members and especially how they see your site. Where do new members come from? Outside your forum so therefore people outside your forum should be given a good impression of your site... Whether is be members here or members of another forum or site. Like i touched on earlier with the firework reference... 1 persons joke can be another persons nightmare. Not everyone shares the same opinion and therefore you should care what people think. I do have a good sense of humor (ask any staff here) but certain things i don't joke about or find funny. Just because we don't find it funny where as you do doesn't mean we "do not have a sense of humor at all". We are just humans like you with different experiences in life and different opinions.
