t's not like being Jewish, it's impossible to change
Wait wait what? I mean I know that there were some Jews in WW2 that hitler "converted" and made into aryans or whatever nonsense but I don't think you can change your race. You can become religiously Jewish yes, but you're usually also ethnically Jewish 😛.

Jew isn't a race since people can convert.
They can convert to Judaism, sure. But that's just the religion, the Jewish people are a race as much as they are a religion, probably more.

Judaism is a religious culture, not a race, Jews are not a race, they are members of the human race like the rest of us.
They're an ethnic group, just like I consider myself to be a Pole. Maybe race is the wrong word, but the point is that religion isn't the defining point. I have Jewish friends who aren't religious, doesn't mean that they don't identify as Jewish people, same as anyone else identifies with their nationality.

I'm absolutely for gay rights. First of all, the bible doesn't say that being homosexual is a sin, it says selling your body as a male is a sin. I can guarantee being gay is not a choice. We don't chose to be straight, do we?

Not strictly true, in Levicticus it states that lying with mankind, as with womankind should be prohibited.

There are tales of men having what experts call platonic realtionships, but homosexuality is not directly mentioned.

At the moment being "Gay" is the fashionable thing to be, that is my opinion, just like it was to be a skinhead, a suedehead or a punk, it's all similar.

There is nothing wrong in claiming to be gay, nothing wrong at all, what is wrong is the way some, and I say some, shove it in your face, I think it's referred to as "openly gay", do I go around being "openly heterosexual" not, because I don't feel the need to, yet every gay bloke I know. seems to have this need to speak and act effeminately, wear bits of make up, FFS get a life.

There is also evidence, that some STD's are more common to gay sex than hetero sex, yet that has been brushed under the carpet.

The best bit of advice I was ever given was by my Dad and it's a bit so I'll clean it up.
You wouldn't walk around in a sewer naked, so why put your todger in a pooh pipe

Wow you are another who quotes the old testament to attack gays... Let me ask you if you are going to go by the old testament do you eat bacon or pork? If you do your are commiting a sin.

See leviticus 11:7.

-----------------------------

Also if being gay is a choice... then go and have sex with the same sex right now.... Come on its just a choice...

Im waiting...

So people who are openly gay are "shoving it in the faces" of heterosexuals?

Okay, so are heterosexual men and women shoving their sexual orientation in the faces of others when they talk about their spouses? No. Then why shouldn't gay men and women be able to talk about the fact that they are gay and have spouses of the same sex? There's absolutely nothing wrong with it at all.

Also, not all feminine men are gay. There are plenty of men who act feminine but are "straight" (I use this term loosely because, as I said previously, the vast majority of people are bisexual to some extent).

I think that people need to get over sexual orientation. This is 2012, not 1812. People should be able to be who they are naturally without having to fear persecution.

I don't agree with it at all personally, but I think people should stay out of other people's business, so I fully support people's rights and would defend them if need be.

I'm okay if you're gay. It doesn't affect me at all and I fully respect you for it.

Some of the arguments here have been so appalling and absurd I've found this thread quite difficult to read. If you want to defend homosexuals, don't start telling people to disregard what is written in the Bible. If that is people's religion, they have every right to and they most certainly will think that is is a holy book that speaks truth. Is that so surprising?

The fact is that the Bible tells people most distinctly to love thy neighbour. If your neighbour puts his willy in another dude's poopdy poopdy then such it is. I do advocate responsible and contextual reading of the Bible, but people can choose to interpret it how they like with as many contradictions as they care to make sense of.

Well I got a honest question for you then or anyone who is a bible follower.

Why do you put so much belief and faith in a book written over 2000 years ago, translated over 100 times, and gives no real proof of anything it says. The only people who believe in it so much is other people who have this "faith" that is true.

Again this is a real question, im not trolling or trying to start crap. I am just confused how people could live their life by a single book...

Just because the bible has been translated because time increases and words change? The bible is translated to accommodate for new words that we would never understand 😉 Look at the old king james, example:

(KjaMES) "...the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ....."

(NIV) "...the covenant previously established by God

It's the same thing, so you saying just because the bible has been translated is a very weak argument.

More: http://www.bereancall.org/newsletters/foundations.htm

You seem to have missed my point.

It has gotten translated from many different languages. In some of the original languages like hebrew... Some words in the current bible did not exist.. So how can you have faith in this new book that does not even say what the original does? (hope that makes since..)

And you also missed my other point. Where is the proof of all these things?

All the bible is, is a story book that for some reason people love to base their life on. It is as silly as me basing my life on harry potter books..

Same sex marriage should be legal. Making it illegal is a direct display of discriminating people by their genetics and in my mind is heartless.

I am a Christian, support Romney, am not gay, and I still believe that same sex marriage's legality is a fundamental.

My view on homosexuality is that i don't really care what other people do, If it doesn't involve me then why should i worry about it?

I am not very religious, but:

There is no proof, that is why it is called faith.

Does harry potter teach you life lessons? No. I hate it when atheists go around annoying religious people just because they seem to think that they are somehow more informed or smarter than those who chose not to be cynical a-holes.

I'm sorry but honestly the bible doesn't teach you "Life Lessons" for all we know some guy felt bored and wrote it before he had to go to war, We don't know who wrote it, when it was wrote, why it was wrote. Everyone just assumes it was by Jesus because that's what everyone wants to hear.

I'm sorry if you get offended, I'm not trying to be rude or offend you, but that is honestly my opinion when it comes to religion.

"Everyone assumes it was by jesus." Seriously? I hope you find out how stupid this statement is soon.

"for all we know some guy felt bored and wrote it before he had to go to war" What?!

We do know when it was written, if only roughly.

Have you even read the bible?

I wouldnt get offended, Im not even religious, I just despise atheists who know little about religion.

I was brought up by a christian family, I just honestly think it's all a load of crap.

And how do you know everything you hear/read is true? You don't.

I'm going to direct myself away from this conversation due to us both having different opinions and their is nothing to fuss about 😛.

You know what I hate.. People automatically assuming I am an Atheist just because I do not believe in the bible..

Oh and FYI... I have done alot of studying on many religions and have a family that is very religious..

Infact if you read earlier I know about "faith"... I was asking what else do they have besides "faith".

Ugh Homosexuals are Disgusting, i can't stand watching Two boys or two girls dating each other.
