"Thou shall not kill" is pretty clear, yet humans do a good job of killing animals and other humans every day...including those who follow the bible.

Also, the bible recommends the death penalty for gays. If you are going to use the bible to justify anything, at least be consistent, otherwise you're just being picky and proving yourself to be unable to support your claimed beliefs.

Personally I see no reason why homosexuals should not be able to get married or be together. It doesn't effect me in any way, shape, or form so why would it bug me? I mean yes the flamers kind of get on my nerves, just because you're gay doesn't mean you have to prance around and not act like a man. But then again who am I to judge someone based on what they like?

I personally believe it is fundamentally wrong to force churches to marry gays, which is what the UK seems to be planning to do. You CANNOT change someones viewpoint by forcing them to do something, if anything it will only make them detest the idea more.

Valid point.. I mean heck, why don't we stop forcing people to believe that rape, murder, theft, etc. is wrong too! I mean according to your statement and I quote; 'we CANNOT change someone's viewpoint by forcing them to do something.'

So basically you're trying to base your argument on the fact that, what someone believes in shouldn't stop them from doing that, thus meaning, anyone who believes rape, or murder, or anything that you deem is un-socially acceptable should not be forced not to do such things by fear of being sentenced to a punishment, whether it be jail, death, or whatever your law system has.

The problem with your argument is that most of these quotes are taken out of context. Once you do that, it might sound differently than it was intended by its author or author(s). I'm not saying any book is free from error, but this is not the most accurate angle of attack on it.

Make your own decisions for once, life is about learning, evolution and living to ones own choices.

You're never going to learn if you focus on a set of written beliefs which control what you're open to learning about.

You're never going to evolve if you don't believe in the ability to be different.

You're never going to make your own choices, if you believe a book, word for word, on what is 'right' and what is 'wrong', what is 'good' and what is 'bad', what is 'acceptable' and what is 'unacceptable' etc.

Personally, I feel that it isn't any of my business what someone else does with their life or who they want to spend it with. It shouldn't be our government role to say who people can love and of what gender. I feel that area should be lassie-fair, and be up to the partners.

The majority of the forums i've been on, many of the young and ignorant members disagree with homosexuality, or can't or won't seem to understand what homosexuality is before actually thinking of a real, solid rebuke against it. Almost 90 percent of the time, they simply assume what it is, which I find frustrating.

One called it weird, another said "I only shun those last two" in refference to bisexuals and homosexuals, which I personally found offending, a different young member said "It's just misguided".
A different one said "I can eat dirt, but I don't," comparing homosexuality to eating dirt, which made me lose all respect for that member.

It's hard being confused with my own sexualities, while reading these hateful, judgemental comments on the internet, and trying to understand why they think this way. I love and respect religion, and I hope for LGBT equality, at least in most of here, in the USA.

It's a natural part of the world, and people are born with the prefferences they have, and this is nearly impossible to convince people about who are against it. One person (who I admire) could take all the negative comments and compile them into an actual, serious debate, challenging their point of views in such of a matter-of-fact way.

Hardly anyone who he commented on replied back. 😀 They rage-quitted.
What befuddles me though, all those who oppose it all seem to be religious. I've always wondered what the Law's views are on it, not just the religious stand points.
