I will be buying hosting soon, and am wondering what host to use.
I am fed up with lousy hosts.

I need ideas.
Deadline is April 18th.

** Must support phpBB3, and have PHP 5 **

@Traygon: PHP 4 is no longer supported by PHP.net or phpBB.com.
@Fowler: I will take a peek at HawkHost.

What do you mean php4 is not supported by phpBB.com?

phpBB3 can be ran on php4 and running it on php4 will not mean that you won't get support from them.

Hawkhost is the host we use here and we have been using them for about 2 months now with no problems during that time.

Ive seen 5 posts in the past saying PHP 4 is not supported, but can be used, by phpBB.com
Im thinking between BlueHost and HawkHost and JustHost

I'd have to recommend BlueHost or Hawkhost, with BlueHost you certainly get what you pay for and by looking at hawkHost's price plans you get better value for money with BlueHost. Anyway whatever floats your boat, have a look at some BlueHost Reviews and some hawkHost Reviews and see what takes your fancy.

As I said on MSN (was it you I said it to?)...if going with BlueHost be careful of CPU limits. ~wink~

As for LunarPages, I would recommend to stay away from them as much as possible. FP started on Lunarpages, and we were effectively forced off them due to the amount of problems we had. Same goes for ForumAdvertiser, and my own site. ~neutral~

Can you tell me what kind of problems and when they start as i am currently with them and it expires in Aug

BlueHost seem good, apart from the cpu limits (i've never used them but people seem to like them but just need to be careful as they give you low cpu limits).

I found out the hard way that BlueHost sucks when it comes down to CPU Limits, and they don't give you extra credit for having a site with the same color name (BlueHost.com and BlueHumor.org

If you happen to have the resources, try hosting it yourself, that's what I hope to start this summer. I picked up an older computer that i'm working on upgrading to suit the needs. If you can figure out a way to handle the bandwidth (in my case i'm just paying out of pocket) and you read up a few tutorials online, you're really all set ~cool~

I have a vps so i don't need to worry about single ste hosting. (i really need to setup my hosting and forum hosting services -redface- )

I'm on a VPS with cove 🙂
100% uptime, php5, latest mySQL, the newest cpanel11 RC!/ pro
great webhosting/VPS/ resellers account

They sound good.
So far (past 4 days), i've had no downtime with HawkHost.
