So how does one deal with anxiety and depression what are some methods that helps people going to this?

Medication 🙂

Well, it really depends on your case and how severe it is. I have been diagnosed with Panic Disorder & Agoraphobia which lead to generalized anxiety. Panic disorder isn't your everyday anxiety, it can be really bad, but I am coping with it quite nicely now. Surely the medication helped me a lot, I was on a breaking point before I got my pills as it was really hard to cope with all the body sensations that were happening during the panic attack.

As for now, I still use meds, I am not completely free of panic, but one true way I have been using to calm down is to not pay attention to it. In my case breathing exercises or any other sort of relaxation exercises did not work so I had to learn how to just go with it. And pretty much everything I do now when I feel I might panic is I just forget about it. If you are constantly thinking about it, you are just feeding the "monster", while there is no actual monster, you have just created the case yourself and by doing so your brain chemistry, hormones and what not are in a mess most likely.

Pardon me if my understanding is not correct. Anxiety is a condition of confusion with fear while depression is simply a feeling of blues, loneliness, negativity. I have associations with persons afflicted with anxiety that when there is an attack, the tendency is to take a walk or pace himself. It is one way of calming the mind so the anxiety will stop. And if the anxiety is caused by something irreparable like death in the family, I guess the pill will be of great help.

The way the doctors explained it to me was Anxiety is worrying about the future and depression is worrying about the past. It's a little bit of a simplification but I like it. I could go into more detail if you want tho..

The way I deal with it is a mix of med and other less good ways...

well said 🙂

This is difficult for me due to having a lot of stress going on in life however I find that doing something I enjoy like posting on forums, gaming and even heading out for walks really does help me with depression and anxiety.

I'll go somewhere that is quiet to get away from whatever it is that may be bothering me. Then I'll read a book or listen to some relaxing music to help get my mind off of it.

I like to read my Bible and pray. Meditation such as Yoga is also good. Running is great to reduce anxiety/stress. Any kind of workouts really I enjoy doing and that helps. Listening to music and just doing the things I enjoy takes away the anxiety/stress.

music, very big thing for me! and also creating my graphic's and website but mostly music!

I agree. Anytime I start feeling down I usually listen to music to get me back up. Watching movies, going for walks or cooking my favorite meal works to brighten my spirit also.

Take some more time to yourself and focus on yourself. I feel this helps to enjoy your company so you don't feel so alone.
Also listening to music helps.

I find deep breathing can help a lot. Or taking out your stress on objects (pillows, stress balls, etc.), and meditation.
