How do you get members?

Just advertising in forum signatures and msn and here tbh.

I don't seem to be getting any members but I advertise through other forums, and affiliate with them and since I am using ProBoards it is automatically on The Google search engine by just typing the Forum Name!

Usually by post exchanges, but also through promotion forums.

i try to boost search engine hits, i find that many people come from search engines, because a former forum that i went on's google rank went down and all of a sudden there were no more new members

One of the things I like to do, is find a forum similar to mine, just much bigger then make a signature to my site and post all over the place.

I mostly get my members through advertising. Post exchanges mostly. And there are a few members who are active on my forum even after the exchange. I seriously need another way to advertise.
