When you get a PM from someone, how fast are you at responding to it? Do you just skim the message just quick enough so that you can at least make some heads out of what the person is saying and quickly respond, or do you read a message carefully and then respond, thus making the response time a tad longer than it probably should be.
I've noticed some people are fast at responding to PMs. Who knows, it's probably just a sign that they're good at reading a full message quickly and responding to the whole thing. Others read a message too quickly and respond to it so fast that it might seem like they're ignoring you or they don't understand what you're saying or asking which can lead you to wonder if they've even read your whole message. I've had this suspicion a fair few times.
Of course, there are times when a message doesn't really need responding to at all unless you feel like it. Like someone might thank you for something, like if you've helped them in some shape or form. I am always happy to respond if someone thanks me for my help that I gave them, or even if I don't understand completely, even just a "thanks for trying, anyway" would be nice as well. Sometimes when I respond to a thank you message, I'll simply put something like, "No problem, I'm happy that I could be there to help", or if it was something to do with making decisions about something or asking for advice, and if I respond saying that I don't know what can be done, I'll get something like, "Thanks for the help, at least we tried" or something.
I'm usually pretty quick to respond to PMs, of course, I do take the time to read the message fully before trying to respond at all. I'm not always good at responding right away, because sometime I will recieve a PM from someone, and would not be able to read it right away as I'm in another section of a forum viewing a topic, so there are times when it takes a while.
So, how fast are you at responding to PMs. And do you read them fully if it's like a question and you're trying to understand what the person is asking, or do you rush with your responses?
Sorry if this isn't making much sense. I'm kind of stuffed up tonight and just took some Benedryl, and it's kicking in so I'm kind of having a tough time concentrating and keeping my brain focused and in gear.
