Could you please tell me how much a NameCheap domain would be to keep the URL after the FP domain expires?

Also, one of my members came to me and wanted to know if he joins and gets the 4,000 FP, would he be able to renew our FP domain after mine expires (if I buy one)?

You need to renew it yourself. FP doesn't do it at the moment.

Ace is correct, once the domain is pushed to your account it becomes your domain and it is your responsibility to renew it.

You don't have to move any account. If you have an account at NameCheap you can avail of the offer, if you don't have any account there, simply create one.

So if I use FP to purchase a domain name for a year, and then choose to let it expire, could some other FPer pick up the domain the next year with their FP?

You don't have to move the domain to your account if you don't want to. Most members are keen to have the domain in their own account so that they have full control of it, but there is no obligation for you to do so.

@Roger, yes that is possible, members of FP can avail of this offer to register domains that are available and that could potentially include one that was previously registered via this free domain name offer.

I think what Roger meant is that like: I got a domain named: site1.com and didn't move it to my account... and also didn't "pay" you the FPCash for next year, can someone else from this forum can "buy it out"?

kasem please follow the instructions in the first post of this thread to get your domain, i.e.

To claim a domain, please earn the required cash and send a PM to Fergal. Please include;

1. The domain you wish to register (it must not already be taken)
2. A brief description of the site you will publish on the domain.
3. The nameservers that you would like set for your domain name (if you don't know what these are, please ask your host). Further changes to your nameservers will cost 200 FP per change. Obviously you will not have to pay for these changes, once the domain has been transferred to your account.

How many characters(letters) there should in the domain description?
Like 180.....etc

Fergal has been quite busy lately so things have been a little delayed but it shouldn't be to long after you PM him the required information. If it has been a while since you sent the PM, it might be a good idea to send him a reminder incase he forgot. We do get quite a few PM's and it is easy to forget about some things.

So after paying 4kFP ill get a domain but for ow long? Does it last for ever? or it expires after a specific period of time?

Does it cost 4kFP and 2kFP for .info? Or more cos people put 7kFP and im confused...

All domains expire in a 1YR(unless paid for more years).

Does it cost 4kFP and 2kFP for .info? Or more cos people put 7kFP and im confused...
